The thing is, I think the social worker who did our homestudy will frown on it, and I realise a lot of others may too, but I want this chance to give the babies bonding opportunities. Also, I come from a culture where breastfeeding other children in the family, children of friends, neighbours, etc, is perfectly normal.
Should I tell our social worker, or leave it out?

My mother in law has this disgustingly filthy 10-year old Graco stroller. She insists that she is going to use it for my 15-month old daughter. In my opinion, anything that old can't be safe anymore and even though my mother in law thinks she is going to spot clean, I don't think that is a sanitary way to clean it either. Am I wrong? Anyone with a Monster In law knows that no matter what I say it isn't going to matter. And I have a perfectly clean, safe new stroller for my daughter that she loves to ride in... so why does she even need to get out that old, disgusting stroller. Also, maybe if there were any recalls on Graco strollers manufactured 10-12 years, I could use that as ammo. Of course there is no model number or manufactured date on the stroller, that's how old it is. Thanks!

Will you give freedom for your children? If so, will you give them freedoms with limitations or just letting them to do whatever they want and give them whatever they wanted? Please give some reasons for your answer.

As a single parent if one of my children gets punished we all suffer. Example, my daughter acted up and I told her we would not go anywhere if her attitude continued. Of course she continued to act up and I heard her make the comment that since there was only one of me that I would have to take everyone anyway or we would all have to stay home .We were to go skating but i turned around and went home like i said we would if she didn't straighten up. My son was very upset at having to miss out on something he wanted to do b/c of his sisters bad behavior. My question is as a single parent how can I not make us all suffer for her actions, and yet let the other kids have some well deserved fun. I cannot afford to leave her with a sitter, she is 9 years of age and he is 8 so I cannot leave him alone at public places for activites. I have no one I can call on for help discipline her of watch her for free (including family) nor friends. How can I solve this problem?

I see kids in public who are easily 3, maybe going on 4 years old, and they're still in diapers. I'd call that child abuse, since the waste generated by solid foods is toxic, smelly and irritating to the skin. I wonder what it does to the childs sense of control over their own body, and their sense of ownership of their genitals since their mom keeps exposing them in public places. And lastly, all that untreated sewage in the landfills is typhoid waiting to happen. Can any of you offer some balance to my view?

The mother of my 3 y/o and my 1 y/o twins decides to make up all sorts of lies about how I supposedly beat her and threatened her? I have been to jail FOUR TIMES because of this broad. EVERY TIME Child Protective Services gets called on her, she assumes it is me who has called-and it isn't-and she comes up with some BS and flips it back on me? I AM SO TIRED of CPS automatically assuming that this female is telling the truth, when honestly, she is just a really good actress-and for as long as I've known her, there is very little truth in her.
For instance: My 3 y/o-back when she was only an infant, I was holding my daughter, and while I was standing, this female stood behind me and tried choking me with the wire.(She seems to be fascinated w/ wires!) Police was called, and they did NOTHING to her! Told ME to leave! And she cried and begged me to come back that night. I didn't...
The short of the long is-I am so sick and tired of the law seemingly always siding with the female...

He's with the united pentecostal church and totally messed up. he's not allowed on the computer, and can't watch tv (not even the ones at Wal*Mart). his mom homeschools him and he's so behind that he's 16 and just finished the eighth grade.his dad is a meth addict and his mom is super into their church (personally i think it's a cult. their pastor creeps me out). he can't do anything. his only friends are at church. and i'm scared for him. i'm afraid that since he's not allowed to do anything, he's going to go balisitc and over do everything that he wasn't allowed to do before once he moves out. one of the kids that shot up everyone at Columbine had a background similiar to this. not to mention his dad is so out of it, he doesn't provide for his family, and they just lost their house.last i heard they lived in a trailer that wasn't even theirs. they live in arkansas and we live in florida. and they won't come down here because my aunt won't leave her pastor. what can i do? i'm 16 too.

I have a long time friend who has recently fell into a relationship with an abusive man, and they fight, make up and break up constantly over the course of two years to the present. He also does cocaine, and go her on it. I just recently found out she has this habit. She confessed to being on it since they have been together, but I guess I notice it now, because she really has a problem now...which leads me to my dilemma.

She has three kids who see the crap she does. She has lots of different men over a lot, she does coke, she allows this piece of crap abusive man in her home around the kids and evidently, as of late, her "man" needing money and her coke habit have been taking priority over having food in the house and her daughter's school stuff. She bought that baby (9 yrs.) two pair of cheap flip flaps from K-Mart and a mess of cheap items for supplies, and none of them are what she needs.

Now she cries to me about "I don't have money to buy food." Should I help her?

I have a 22 year old daughter, and just recently she moved in with her boyfriend. Her father and I do not approve of her move (neither are we humongous fans of her boyfriend). And i want to tell her this, but I also think that it is time for me to let her go and make her own mistakes. But still, is there anything i can do that will make her have second thoughts about this?

Occasionally i go to the gym to work out before work, after i drop the kids off at the babysitters. My 10 yo son is very smart and some kids call him a nerd and make fun of his size (small) at school. lately he's been begging me to take him with me to the gym on Saturdays. he seems to think that working out will make him bigger and the kids won't pick on him anymore. i was just wondering if working out at such a young age could be harmful for his health?

He got out of his crib and can do it now without any effort. I have lowered the crib to the lowest it can go. The crib tents dont fit the sleigh style crib we have. We tried the "Big Boy" bed conversion and have not gotten a wink of sleep. He is not goign to sleep with us anymore and Im tired of getting up 6 times a night to put him in his bed and stay with him. He is obviously not ready for a big boy bed. He just turned 16 months old.

They have been in school for 2 weeks. And yesterday my teenage (14) daughter came home distraught. The previous week we stayed up and I helped her with a homework project. She is such a perfectionist that sometimes it is hard for her to mange her time.

Apparently, the teacher thought that my daughter plagiarized her project. The teacher called my daughter up to the front of the class (right in front of her peers) and started asking her questions like and demanding answers (the "truth"), "did she steal the idea off of the internet," and that "there is no way you know any of these words."

My daughter stood there, her face turning red and told her the truth, that she didn't steal it and she worked hard and did it herself. The teacher made a face like she didn't believe her. This was devistating to her... she works so hard to gain the respect of her teachers and her peers.

My daughter has a 4.3 GPT. Post highschool SAT scores for reading. What would you do?

It is very important to me that my child be happy, healthy and successful. I see so many parents that don't focus on education. My husband and I each have masters degree, yet education was not stressed in home (I have GREAT parents..just weren't of that generation, paid for college, supported it, but weren't up on our grades and stuff).

How can I help my child succeed? What did you do to instill a work ethic (my parents did that)? How do you teach time management and the importance of school?

Also, what kinds of things can I do to prep the way for college as years go by? Any programs out there to work on at home?

In case you can't tell, my little man goes of to the big K next week....he did great in preschool!

I recently asked a question about making a law banning smoking in homes with children and was appalled to get so many smokers worried about their rights. Do they not have TV, internet, newspapers? All the facts are out there. Do they really think they can sit there and not agree that smoking causes so many serious conditions in everyone most importantly children that can’t escape it? It makes me sick to my stomached to have to give children breathing treatments everyday and know that the parent is smoking in the home knowingly doing this to their children and I’m suppose to mind my own business? I don’t get it. I would love to here a real answer and not a selfish, immature answer about America is a “free” country. Free for whom? Not these kids that can’t tell us we are killing them by exposing them to smoke day after day. Please explain to me how this is not child abuse?

What do you think about this parents? Is it really good to apply IUD for daughters or to teach them never perform sex intercourse with people? Do you find it bad about this?
