My daughter is turning one next month. Since she is so little, the party is more for my friends and family than it is for her. I want to do a CD with songs about "ONE" to give to guests at the party. They DON'T need to be kid's songs, but I might include some kid's songs. I have thought of "one is the lonliest number" and "once, twice, three times a lady" but need more (and better). Anybody? Thanks so much!

Just found out that me and my wife are having a girl, and, amongst all the proper sensible questions we have, we keep coming back to how we should describe a girl's 'private area'. My wife called hers her 'fairy' when she was younger, which is bloody ridiculous. I am an only child, so no sisters to ask. Also, all the girls I have been out with have called theirs things that I don't really want my child knowing....

well ive been with my girlffriend for a year now. wer both 15. her parents talk about me that am rich just cuz i have a driver, they dont even know that i come from a good backround. i asked to meet them a couple of times, they keep on denying though. they realy dont wanna understand the fact that ther daughter has grown up, and its her age. now her mom is kinda worried that shell have sex at an early age or drop out from school, or even get married. i dont blame her for worrying about her daughter, but maybe if she meets me and know who i am, i can probably show them that i'm gd enough. her mom had the same problem wen she was her age, but that was liek in the 70s. what her mom doesnt understand is that wer not in the 70s no more, everyteenager now a days doesnt wanna get married before 25, every1 wants to finish school. if i can just get a chance to explain this to them it would b great. the dad was a real lokoer at our age and was alwayse playin girls, he thinks am the same as him.

Recently, when I took my daughter on a trip to Missouri to visit her father, she was returned to me with at least 15+ bruises. Some were even very legible as finger marks. This was very disturbing to me when I discovered them, as one would figure. Therefore, I took my daughter to a motel immediately and called DFS to report the alleged abuse. I met with one of their employees that works with small children and made up a statement. He told me that the case would remain open while he and the other investigators tried to decipher the situation. If they could not come to any conclusions with substantial evidence the case would close in 30 days. I brought my daughter home with me after this I got her in to see a child therapist and have been working with him to resolve some issues. She gave a couple of explanations for the occurrences and the therapist wrote up an official report and sent it down to the case worker. I still have not heard from him. What can I do to get some response/help?

I don't have children, but I am AMAZED at how bad some of the kids on the show act. They're horrible and the parents just let them keep acting that way until SuperNanny shows up....anyway, do you think Jo Frost's techniques really work? Do you think she really has changed people lives? I know if I did have children and they acted the way some of those kids do, they'd be getting spanked all the time!

My baby is 15 months old,and he wakes up every morning around 7-8 o'clock, and I am soooo tired. I go to bed late, because he goes to sleep sometimes at 9,but mostly later, and no matter what he will wake up early.
And I feel quilty because in the mornings I try my best to keep him a little more in the bed,but he is ready to go and play. I just feel bad because I'm so tired. When I was working I came home sometimes before 11, and he was awake most of the time, so I played with him, feed him, put him in the bed. And I was tired the next morning. Now I don't work just go to school, and I'm mad at myself that I'm still tired. I don't even have time for my husband :( After he goes to sleep and it's all quiet, I like to stay up a little to do my things, like watch tv . That's the only time when I can have some time for myself.
Moms do you feel this way?Am I bad?

When girls are old enough to date?My daughter is 13 and she has a boyfriend. They are sexual active and sometimes they do sex at home, because the boy's parents wouldn't allow him to do sex.I am not going to stop my daughter but just wander about other people's mind. And one more thing - don't you think it's better to HELP children with their choices instead of pulling from them promises(like "I promise I won't do sex") which they won't follow?

ok so i picked up my son this friday from the babysitter's house and she had a boy and a girl in time out because the boy had pulled down another boy's shorts and was touching his pee pee and the little girl walked in on them and was in shock so the boy who pulled the shorts down blamed everything on her so the sitter put them both in time out. The sitter told me not to worry she would watch them all the time, even if shes cookin or something she goes to check on them every 2 minutes. What should I do? By the way the boy that had pulled down the other boy's shorts had his pee pee out, we dont knwo what the hell they were doing, but the sitter said shed talk to their parents.

A year ago...my friend was going through a horrible problem...you know Mardis Gras right? Well....when everyone was catching beads, my firend and her dad was at her grandpas house. She said her dad raped her during Mardis Gras at around 11:00...is that even possible??? How can her dad rape her? Well....she said her dad was drunk that night. She didnt want to tell anybody so she told me and my other best friend. That is so stupid!!? Why wouldnt she tell anyone? She wouldnt evne tell her stepmom or her real mom. Like a week later, she finally todl her real mom and then they went to court and she is currently living with her real mom now.

But she also sadi her dad was gonna be in jail for about 5 years. She said thats what the court said. About three days later. I saw her dad at the Wal-mart in the other line talking to his "friends". and I'm pretty sure it was him. She was lying uh? That is so stupid!!? Why would she lie like that? Or was she lying??? p.s. we're nto friends anymroe.

My husband and I have custody of the kids... I love them and view them as my own... no probs there. The kids love and adore me (yeah quite sickening because our family dynamic is amazing) It is frustrating for the kids as well as myself when dealing with schools, doctors, anyone... I couldn't even get my step daughters ears pierced... because I didn't give birth... I have been in their world since 99 and had the step mother title officially in 2001. and it is ridiculous that my kids(step) have to stand up for me because they are just as tired of having to explain that I am as much involved in decisions as their father or mother. Dang Brothers Grimm and their stinking fairy tales... not all step mothers are bad... I just feel that step parents should have rights. I know it can be complicated ( I came from a split home) but my step mother never had the complicatons I am having... My kids and husband arent the problem it seems to be everyone else. Should step parents have more rights

I have a daughter about to be 4. She's incredibly bright, willfull and bossy. I need direction on helping her to learn discipline, confidence and respect without tearing her down. Would love to speak to someone about her/us specifically but don't think we're at the 'therapy stage'. Maybe I'm wrong. Ideas/input anyone?

My son is seven years old. I was incarserated in prison when my girlfriend found out she was pregnant. I guess while I was in prison she got arrested for possesion/distributing illegal substances. Her parents took the custody of my son, but didn't adopt him. They now want to adopt him (she is still in prison and doesn't want him) My parents paid child support to her parents while I was in prison and since I've been out I've paid child support. Her parents still want to adopt...is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? Shouldn't I get full custody of my child? I cannot afford a lawyer and I'm not sure what I shoud do? What steps should I be taking? I think the trouble I've gotten into really makes me a "bad parent" in the courts eyes.
