My husband and I have been married for almost 4 months, but have been together for almost 7 and a half years. I've wanted to have children for as long as I can remember and before we got married, we discussed the issue and my husband said he wanted to wait a couple of years after we married. Now that we're married though, my motherly instincts have kicked into overdrive and it's all that I think about. I love my husband dearly and don't look at having a child as a negative at all. My husband, however, looks at it as the end of our lives as we know it. Whereas I look at it as being able to share our lives with our child, he sees it completely different.

My question is more of a desire for your opinion. How soon is too soon to have children? I understand that it's a case by case deal, but I'm soooo ready and he's soooo not! What can I do in the meantime to busy myself until he's finally ready for parenthood?

i was just reading an article where two mothers of no relation gave birth each to a daughter on the same day. ten months later they discover than they are not the biological parents of this child. they tracked down the other family and they are doing a DNA test as well. they are planning the swap the babies before the end of the year. i was just curious to know what you would do if put in this position

My mother in law who lives all the way across the world, and who has medical problems is coming for 2 to 3 months to stay with my husband and I when I give birth. The plane flight is 27 hours away. It is only right that she stays for a while, and she will help me and all that.

I just was worried that I will get totally tired of her and get all crazy feeling, or will I be so tired, that I will welcome any assitance.

My husband has asked me to try to understand that she is the only one that can come over here, because it is so expensive ($3000 to fly) and I should relax.

How do I not become selfish and learn how to deal with my mother in law living with us for 2 to 3 months.

BTW...she is a very caring woman and I like her...thank God.

I'm just worried, I won't have any alone time with my baby while i have the opportunity to be home with maternity leave.

I'm sending out baby shower invitations this week. Is it tacky to print clear labels with the addresses, or should i handwrite them? I don't have very nice handwriting, and I know there is an etiquitte controversy here. I did the proper addressing for my wedding invitations (label on the outside, handwritten on the inside). Now I'm planning a shower for my sister, and I'm not sure what to do.

im 20 y/o broke and jobless homeless staying with a friend barely educated and pregnant and i know im not ready to have a child in any way shape or form. i can get a min wage job that wont even pay the rent on a studio let alone bills food and clothing or all the things babies need my family doesnt believe in helping others take care of their kids because they feel everyone should be independent and hold their own. the guy who im pregnant by is my abusive ex that i cut out my life who only cares about spending money on drugs and alcohol and doesnt want kids. i was on birth control when i got pregnant i would like kids sumday but i really feel that im not ready to have kids now until i get my life str8 now i'm stuck in this rut. i really dont want it but i dont want giving it up for adoption neither because i dont want someone else raising my flesh and blood and having a kid somewhere out there and not apart of thier life. what should i do? keep it abort it or giving it up for adoption?

OK, here is the deal. I had my daughter when I was 20 and never wanted to have another one. I felt that I have to have a career and my life is perfect. Now when my daugher is almost 14 and I can finally have some free time and travel, I want to have another child. My mom thinks I am crazy, it's too big of a difference and kids should be close to age with each other. (me and my brother are 2 years apart). she thinks i am going to ruin my life. Am I crazy for not wanting one for so long and wanting now?

My husband is eleven years older than me and was married once before. After he and his first wife got a divorce, she found out that she was pregnant. He was present for the birth of the baby, signed her birth certificate, and spent a year helping to raise her. Turns out the baby was never his. Now we want children of our own, but I feel very hurt and jealous that he has already experienced pregnancy and birth by anther woman's side. How can I deal with these feelings?

How can a father have a paternity test done with out the mother or the 8 year old child knowing?
Perhaps acquire a sample from the child without telling the child what it is for - without having to go to a clinic? Is there a reliable method of testing that can be accomplished this way?
Any ideas would be very helpful - thank you!

I'm 18, just in colleage. Your probably thinking, Wow! I must be stupid. But I have a kind husband, and he has a good job, the family's going fine, and we barely ever argue. We have one baby girl named Maria (mah-ree-uh) that just turned one, and I'm expecting a baby boy that we decided to name Eric. Do you think I'm too young? Nobody else really agrees that as long as I have a good relationship with him I'm fine!

sometimes people make me feel that way. Or that because my daughter who is 22 months does not go to daycare anymore (she went for her 1st year) that she is going to be some anti-social freak of a child....doesn't that have a lot to do with parenting? Anyway, I sometimes feel guilty and that I'm robbing my daughter of something.
As a kid I liked staying home with my mom!

My husband & I are 21.We talked about having kids before we were married & we want to have kids. Not any time soon.We want to enjoy being married/get more financially stable.AT LEAST 3 years down the road. Before we got married that was fine w/me.I always felt that I wanted my 1st child between 24-27.Now I'm not so sure.I see all these girls I know who are 16,19,21 years old...some of them aren't out of school yet or don't even have jobs...the couple's 1-year anniversary is only 1,4,7 months earlier than the baby's due date. And they're completely okay with it.I'm not saying they shouldn't be happy. But they don't seem worried at all about the responsibility of it all. They're off picking out cute clothes.I don't understand how they could seem so carefree.I'm married to a guy who I was best friends with 4 years before we dated. We both have stable jobs.We want kids. But I would flip if we got pregnant. The idea literally almost makes me puke.Am I being overly anxious? How could I get over it?

I'd be yanking my kids out of that school so fast they wouldn't know what hit them.

Do you think the students are truly safe, if a gunman DID enter the school, and she DID draw her weapon? Does she think a gunman would wait patiently while she sees to it that the students are "in an office and out of the line of fire"?

I'm all for the second ammendment right to own a gun, but if every person going through an ugly divorce gets to bring a gun on school property, doesn't it seem that it would just be inviting trouble?

What are your thoughts on this? Are you for or against, why, and under what circumstances?
