I'm against abortion because I believe life begins at conception. I know that no matter what, if a pregnancy goes through to birth, the only possible outcome is a human being born of it. Not a chicken, frog, etc. This being the case, I believe it is always a human being and should be allowed to live it's life.

Oh, although I disagree with your stance on abortion, I agree that people shouldn't bug because you ask a question. If it bothers them, they shouldn't answer or even read the question in the first place. I don't like everything I see on YA but it is a forum to ask questions - plain and simple.

Although I don't expect to change your mind on the issue, even though I wish I could, I hope that you get something useful out of my response.

Pro-Choice is about just that. Choice. Adoption is a Choice, raising a child is a Choice, having sex is a Choice, carrying a child is a Choice.

What bothers me is folks who will demand freedom of religion (and hey, I support that) but they demand that a woman's body become the property of the state.

If you are Anti-Choice or Pro-Life I don't see why that choice has to be forced on other people. Make the commitment not to have an abortion, the only person you can control is you. Someone who decides to have one is going through enough without the politics involved.

Judge not lest ye be judged.

Would I personally have an abortion? That's a really big and personal decision. Even if I decided I wouldn't I would not demand that everyone choose what I chose.

If you make it illegal, desperate women will go back to back allies and whatnot. You will lose embryos and women's lives.

Sometimes its rather hurtful to be a woman and read some of the things people say. They care more about you being a breeder cow for the state (last I checked this was America and not the Soviet Union) than how good of a parent you'd be or that you were the victim of rape or incest.

It is a topic I think can only be moved on with when people ask who really controls their lives.

Just my two cents.

i am sure i will get about 10 thumbs down but if you havent walked in my shoes, then you shouldnt judge, i dont think any one should get a thumbs down for speaking there opinion if someone is asking a question then all answers should be respected even if you dont understand.

I was struck by the strength of the question and I agree about the yahoo answers 100%
I was assaulted by my Aunts husband at a very young age i was still a "V" i was so young i didnt know I was pregnant When i went in the ambulance and they did tests for stds etc I didnt follow up for almost 3 months to get preg test cause i was so depressed and when it was possitive, My mother took me for the termination because she did not want me to endure even more pain I was so upset i quite school. I felt like a "murderer" for so long untill I matured if that was my daughter I would have done the same Thing. I have health conditions that would jepordize my life.
Would you want to carry your uncles baby after been raped several ltimes? My brother almost Murdered him i never saw my brothers cry only that night wen they came to the hospital.

the school new and i was just so sick.
I do not believe in abortion as birth control absolutely NOt.
BUT i do believe that abortion is a personal decision and its up to that person if they want to share there story. I think its very important for parent to educate there kids on the risks of having sex before marriage. when these girls get pregnant and there parents find out the end result is take them straight for the clinic and it could have been prevented had the parents just educate there kids and give them self esteem so they dont go sleep around.
SO thats my story and this is why I am Pro-choice
abortion should be only in extreme cases and this should be verified from the clinic it is being done. But i dont think that these clinics are out with good intentions they make tons of money and I know if new rules get implimented they will lose alot of money.
i had an elective temination when i was a child so if that makes me a murderer and killer then what about those prison guards that have to execute a "death penalty" are those guards murderers too?

I personally happen to believe that abortion is wrong. I believe that by having an abortion, a person is ending a life, and that is wrong. No one has the right to murder, just because the fetus doesn't have a voice. I myself have considered abortion in my first pregnancy, so I know that it doesn't take a monster to do such a thing, just a desperate, scared individual. In the end I could not do it, I felt in my heart it was wrong, and thought what if my baby had some purpose to be here; something really important. It's wrong to use abortion as a form of birth control. If someone is mature enough to have sex then they need to understand and face the consequences that come along with having un protected sex. Only when it's a threat to the mothers life, or some other way medically recommended do I believe it's right. And no one has the right to give people thumbs down for posting their opinion, even if you don't agree, everyones entitled to their own beleifs.

I am against abortion. I hold life above anything else.
I think that abortion is nothing short of murder. Sure people always say "well technically the baby isn't alive yet" and I say that doesn't change the fact that it WILL be alive.
If you catch a falling ball, that doesn't change the fact that the ball would have hit the ground.

It's just that. . . Life is the only thing we know right now, people may believe in heaven or hell or God or not, but all we have now is life and I think that we have no right to deny that to a child, whether they've been born or not.

Also pregnancy isn't that bad unless something goes wrong. Women are built to carry and give birth to babies! Like somebody else said, there are no accidental children, only accidental parents. If you can't take responsibility for your actions you shouldn't be having sex at all. I think abortion is just an excuse for teens everywhere to have sex at their hearts content.

Just my opinion, all I'm asking for is you to respect my opinion because I respect yours. I believe you do have a point and I believe I have a point, also.

I think that it is each woman's right to make that choice. I don't think I have the right to dictate to another person that they must have a child. I also think that abortion is wrong and, that even in the case of rape, conception = life and that is a child that has a right to be born. One problem then is what do we do with all the unwanted babies. Only so many will be adopted. Do we built institutions to raise these children? That's a nightmare. The foster care system has lots of problems and lots of abused children and that's more nightmares. So I guess it boils down to this. Anyone that tells a person that they must have a child should be ready to take that child into their home and bear the responsibility for it forever. Unless they can do that, they should keep their mouth shut. And changing the Roe v Wade is ridiculous. Women will always have unwanted pregnancies. The rich will be able to fly to countries that allow abortions. But the poor will be forced to back alley abortions. The only way to stop abortions is to change morality. Everyone must believe that even a child of rape or incest is not tainted by the crime and will be welcome in society and that to abort such a child is morally wrong. You can't dictate that by law but only by changing society.

Hey my opion is I am against abortions. Reason? Well if a person isnt prepared to be a parent they shouldnt be having sex unprotected. They know the consequences of it is pregnancy and std's yet they are dumb enough to still have unprotected sex like they are untouchable and then want sympathy when they get pregnant or catch sumtin that is life threatening. Another reason I believe in GOD and though he gives us free will he also gives the gift of life and those woman who become pregnant that is a blessing because GOD feels u have the strenght and courage to bring this life into the world as well as raise them the right way!! Not all women are blessed with that gift and most of those who are take advantage and constantlyl abort or throw kids way or abuse them. Why I dont know. But if u can deal with the pleasures of having unprotected sex then be woman enough to deal with the consequences of your actions. This goes for teenagers too. They shouldnt be having sex let alone unprotected sex. U wanna play grown up games suffer grown up consequences. Now on another end of it for those women or girls who become pregnant due to rape or sexual assualt I have been there and know what goes on in ur head but abortion is still not the answer. Think of the couples out there that cant have kids and want them use ur pain to make someone else happy that lets the devil and the person who did it know they couldnt break u cause u are stronger than that and can jump back from anything I was in that situation but I didnt let it break my spirits or pride I dealt a day at a time and helped out a wonderful couple who couldnt have kids cause the wife was abused so bad as a child she wa unable to conceive. So look at all options and point of views before u make a quick decision. But also u can do what u want cause its ur life just be careful and take better pre-cautions. Be blessed and safe

I am pro - life in that I belive human life does begin at conception. I watched my second child grow inside me from the 4th week; where he only had a heart beat. Also when a pregnant woman dies that unborn baby is counted as a death no matter the gestional age. Even a child with birth defects has the right to life and something to teach us.

I also believe in choice - - my friend Kenny deserved to have a choice to kill or raise his unborn child. It still haunts him to this day that she did that without him knowing.

abortion is a really touchy subject like politics....should be touched very lightly..but eresm y opinion on abortion cause im on both sides of the fence.....

FOR:
im for abortion mainly because if a girl was raped im sure she wouldnt wanna carry the rapists child therefore will wanna "get rid of it" cause it will remind them of somethng they hate....or if the peron doesnt ahve enough money for all the doctor visits and things like that nor enough money for adoption they will wanna get rid of it before it can fully live its life miserably...

AGAINST:
im mainly against it because at first i thought abortion was no big deal until i did research on it and found out that by the time u get an abortion, its "technically" a person and would be murder....and the way they do it is in-humane....

i hope my answers helped u out a little bit and werent half-***ed...and different views tahn others...if not im soory and hope it at least gave u something to read....
but yeah abortion can be a VERY touchy subject as religion or politics....so be careful how u phrase things like this....
