I hope not! I am sure that in some way or another if you are on WIC or Medicaid they have there hand in there but otherwise unless someone calls in on you why would they be involved? Even if you are on WIC or Medicaid I assume there management of your case is only there through these services unless your child is not thriving and the Medicaid or WIC worker reports you. This is just my best guess.

No. They are only involved if there is a history of abuse or neglect involving other children and they have reason to fear the new baby would be at risk.

They give you the benefit of the doubt, until they have real reason not to.
They don't even step in if a pregnant woman chooses to smoke through pregnancy.
CPS investigated us right after my older son turned one, because some do-gooder decided since he was skinnier than her kid, we must not feed him. They cleared us after about fifteen minutes, and I was pregnant at the time. Didn't hear from them again through the pregnancy.
