He throws a fit every time I need to go somewhwere he does not want to go, he says he hates me and if I threaten to take something away he just looks at me with a smirk on his face and says good I don't care. He missed the bus for school this morning because he wouldn't get out of bed and get dressed. I have to constantly check on him to make sure he is getting ready for school or to do his home work or to do anything. I put his clothes out in the morning to save time and hassle and he complains about the shirt I put out.

This will be his first child- and my second. Can anyone recommend some good books I could get him to read? I'm not really sure how to describe what I'm looking for- maybe some books written by fathers- but with more of a realistic view? I don't want a "brag about my perfect family" book. Any books or articles that explain how so many men go through such a "shock" once the baby is born? Ie- mom has 9 months of feeling baby and bonding and falling in love- and usually dads don't get that feeling or whatever until baby is born.

So anyways- if that made sense- any good reading suggestions for a new father?

**just FYI- he's 29 and I'm 36 weeks and have a 7 year old daughter**

just wondered if childminders get any notice for their inspection visits, I know nurseries do which personally I think is a bit stupid as it can be staged instead of viewing what really happens.
U.K. answers please as asking re U.K. childminders.
Cheers.

We have picked out a name for our baby boy, however, when it comes to a girl name, no matter what we find we cannot agree. i was looking for some outside suggestions to help out if possible. It is a mixed race baby. if anyone could help who isnt going to make horrid racist comment, that would be wonderful and much appreciated.

We have 3, yet everyone comments our middle will get "middle child syndrome", when we had 2 people said "are you having another, if ones gone the other will be lonely", and of course when we had one, people said, "you've got to have another, its mean to only have one!' Yet if we had four people would then comment how large our family would be! It seems you can't win!!! How many children would you like or have you had and are happy, as we are happy with our 3 (no matter what people say!!!)

Did I get pregnant, we are a turkey baster baby. And how does that whole artificial insemination thing work, you know with the sperm banks where the man ejaculates into a cup and then hands it to the nurse to freeze. I am assuming that the sperm hit the air.

Why do people insist on saying that sperm die when they hit the air? This is one of the many things wrong with teaching abstinence only.

Lets say you have unprotected sex 1 day before your period starts....and the next day you get your period, does that mean you can still get pregnant?

I don't believe in teaching my daughters to call their genitals "pet names," such as "kitty, tute tute, etc. I feel that If I teach them to call it a vagina, I would know if someone had said something/touched them if they called it a different name. Well, I was at my mom's yesterday and gave the girls a bath after dinner. After I got my oldest out she took off running. My mom said "liyah, you need to put some clothes over your kitty cat." I told her I teach them to call their genitals a vagina and she got mad. What would you have done? I told her when they were born the way I planned on teaching them about their parts. Is there any reason for her to be offended when I told her from the begining what I would teach my daughters?
