my friends half-sister is mixed (black and white). She looks white, you would never think she was black (blonde hair, light skin, no dominant black features). Her mom is lighter than most black people so that could be why. My husband is mixed as well and he also looks white...Anyways, the little baby cries when black people are around her, she cried at my husband's mom and his uncle...(she never cries around people and they were the only black people around) I'm 8 months pregnant and I worry my baby will be scared of his family. I really don't want him around them though because they are all ghetto freaks (won't get into it) ....Why do you think the little girl cries??

i just took my baby to the doc cos her tongue has a thick white coating
the doc said its not thrush,as it isnt located anywhere else
and that its normal for babies to just get a white tongue sometimes
this doesnt make sense to me?
have any of you ever heard of this, and it was ''nothing''

my baby also lost 1 oz this week, she said that also happens, the baby wasnt even sick, she just lost an oz?
i know losing weight is a sign of cancer and now im terrified
and i dont even want to start googling or ill get even worse
they did do blodwork""just as a precaution, she said"' poor baby is only 11 months being stuck with a vicious needle!

has anyone ever known of a baby to lose weight and be ok?
and please dont forget the white tongue thing?

My daughter is having a new baby next summer and I am to take care of this little bundle of joy but I am not joyful at all. I will be the caregiver without question because I do not work out of the house, but I want to finish my education that I have waited 20+ years to do and now have the chance. But that is all put off for at least 4 years. Am I wrong to resent this responsibility? How can I stop feeling so put upon?

My daughter just started getting this rash and it is all over her face. She is 5 weeks old. It kinda looks like baby acne but it is all over her face and neck and behind her ears, and on the top of her head. could baby acne be that bad. or do you think she could be allergic to something.

I've never drank breast milk but I have dabbed it on my finger before and it tasted sweet so I left it at that. Well I pumped and froze a bag of it about a month ago and decided last night to give it to the baby- well he won't take a bottle so I put it in a cup and he made a weird face- so I decided to try it. I took a big sip and it tasted sweet at first and then it tasted so disgusting that I couldn't bring myself to swallow it- I had to spit it out. It tasted kind of how dried breastmilk smells. Ok has anyone ever experienced this before? I'm thinking maybe I didn't freeze it the correct way. I did what the box said it- put the milk in squeeze out and air zipper it up both times. I put it in our regular freezer in the ice compartment. Did I do something wrong? Was that freezer burn or how the milk actually tastes?

And you don't need to burp your baby? Also does a breast fed baby gain weight much slower than powder milk one?

With your first you have all the lullabies going in the room. You had the energy and time to just treat him like a newborn. My second baby is 4 months old and he doesn't get covered with a blanket every time we go out. He doesn't get treated like he is breakable. He is loved and gets LOTS of attention, but I dont' get to treat him as 'babyish' as my first born. He just has to fit into the schedule (hey I even breastfeed him while I am shopping and my older one pushes the cart.. with my first born I would stop and take her somewhere we could relax to breastfeed her)....

So Im going to my moms baby shower tomorrow (yes my moms- there are 25 years between me and my soon to be sister!!) Anyway.
I have some little things to get her, but I want to make a basket of necessities...
What are those little things that no one got you that you realized later you needed (example... gum cleaner or thermometer or something along those lines)
I want to put a bunch of little things in this basket (dont want to spend a fortune though!)

I got my friend one of those gift sets that has the piggy bank and a box for first tooth and first curl and some diapers. I need to get one more gift that won't cost over $10 that would go good with the gifts I already got her. It's her first baby.

Hello all,

My situation: 26 weeks and 2 days pregnant with my first baby; it's a boy =]

My problem: thigh/hip cramps and had sore feeling in my pelvic/lower tummy area for 2 days. Did this happen to anyone during their 6 month? Did your baby come early (if this was your first baby)?

My worry/concern: Seems like a lot of women are lactating now (in their 6 month) and I'm not yet. I know that it may happen after delivery but I'm just really afraid that the milk won't come. Not for any particular reason, it's just a concern. I really want to breastfeed but if I can't is there a formula out there that is really close to breastmilk as far as vitamins and nuturients go?

Please answer these three questions if you can. Thank you for all your help =]

What did you do during the first 6 months? My ppd is more like ocd. im sad and when i clean i feel better. The problem is my ocd is getting worse and when i start to clean i get stuck doing something until it is perfectly clean and in order! I have a schedule for everything including my sons feeding and nap time! i have that part down and i do play with him but i feel like im not doing enough.. I try to take him outside when i get a chance or if im doing yardwork. But most of the time his outside time is spent with daddy. I was just wondering if any other moms (with the first baby) ever felt like that and what did you do with your baby?

I'm wondering if the routine changes when cutting the cord. We want to donate the cord blood, but my husband would like to cut the cord when the baby's born. Will he still be able to do that or will the doctor have to do it for donation purposes?

my son has been sleeping throughout the night since he was 2 months old. about three weeks ago he started waking up numerous times in the middle of the night. hours vary. 3 am, 4 am, 5 am. usually it's between 3-5 times at night. although he doesn't cry it's more like a "help me guys" type of babbling. haha. 99% of the time i find him wedged in the corner of his crib. he's definately a wiggler. he's even wiggled his way in the corner when he slept in his pack and play. he sleeps on his stomach, back, sides. which ever way is comfortable for him. he takes regular naps during the day. eats fine. he's usually asleep by 9ish. sometimes earlier, sometimes later. doesn't matter what time he falls asleep, he always wakes up in the middle of the night. ive read tons of books on sleeping patterns. but me, i dont go by books. i go by motherly instinct and its helped me so far since day one. anyone else have this happen with the baby? any suggestions becuase ive ran out...

I feed my son 6oz every 4 hours but he seems to be hungry again soon after. Last night i fed him 8oz before bed and he took all of it. Should i up his bottles to 8oz or is this too much? I was thinking of giving him a little baby rice to fill him up more but know that you shouldnt until 4-6 month.

I know its a bit early for Christmas, but I've just been wondering. Any thoughts about how to cope with an inquisitive 1 year old crawler/cruiser who grabs and pulls on anything that he can reach and a Christmas tree?

I know it will be a nightmare having a tree on the floor as my son will be grabbing and pulling it and might even pull it over (he's so strong!).

Would it be better to have a smaller tree that we could put up on a table out of his reach? How did others cope with a grabby baby and a Christmas tree?

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I haven't seen it. I'm interested in people's opinions of whether breastfeeding in public is offensive/wrong or not.
