My 12 month old is not walking yet. She has taken a couple of steps by herself with out holding onto anything. I was wondering if there are special types of shoes that would help her start to walk? Are there any other special techniques? I have tried a walker, but I think that might be delaying her walking. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

My daughter was born on Nov 3 2007 “which was the past sat” at only 35 weeks. She weighed 4 pounds 10 ounces but passed all her test and was able to come home Monday when I did. I love my daughter to death but Im going threw so much right now so I had some questions and hope someone can answer some of them that has had a preemie. Its hard for my husband and I to make her stay awake to eat is there any tricks? She has a lot of hiccups but she had a lot of hiccups when she was inside me as well does anyone know when this will go away and do they hurt her? An now the BIG one. I haven’t slept since we got home from the hospital on Monday just a few hours when I knew for sure I mean really sure that my husband was ok with her and promised he wouldn’t fall asleep even then I still couldn’t sleep. I know people say you should sleep when your baby sleeps but she is so little that I can’t sleep thinking some things going to happen.

I've seen this question alot but what do you think of babies getting their ears pierced? With my 4 teens (boys and girls) they got their's pierced at 1 but i'm planning on getting my month old babies (2 boys 2 girls) ears done as soon as they're old enough. The youngest I've heard of is 3 months but if they can get it done younger, let me know.

He's been crawling since he was 5 months, and is quite good at walking when assisted by us or furniture, even on handed.

He's also been standing himself up unaided and unsupported, and remains that way for a while.

Recently he's taken to crawling with his butt up in the air, using the bottoms of his feet instead of his knees.

Isnt this usually how it goes before they all of a sudden take off walking?

I know each kid is on their own time table... but he gets so frustriated from crawling, and I have 6 more pounds to lose.. so its a win/win situation for walking ;)

I made my babies food in a large pot and froze it in containers, i only made it with ALOT of veggies! Now my mum is telling me that i should add a meat to keep her full because she is crawling and will burn the veggies off quickly! So my question is what do you make for your baby? And what meat do you give them?

I have been filing my daughters nails for the past 4 months (since she was born). I was just wondering how you cut your babies nails? Which way is safe, filing or cutting with baby nail clippers?

Why do other people get so upset about a baby that isn't theres and how other people raise there children? Example: One mother doesn't breastfeed and gets harassed/criticized/ and bashed by breastfeeding mothers, Vaccinating and not vaccinating. I just don't understand why others have to be so harsh. It is our child, our decision. There is no way the parent is going to change there parenting because people bash them. It just makes me sooo mad and I am tired of all this bashing/criticism about breastfeeding/not breastfeeding, vaccinating/not vaccinating. Us formula-feeding mothers don't go to people that post questions about breastfeeding and say their doing something wrong so why do it to us?

When I breastfeed, I am always afraid that his nose is being blocked from breathing. (boob up his nose lol)
But my lactation consultant says hes fine. Even if she is right, I'll push myself away from his nose just to make sure he can breath.
Do you ever worry about this or should I stop being so worried? lol

How long does it take for hormone levels to get back to normal after breastfeeding?
I just stopped completley breastfeeding 2-3 weeks ago after weaning slowly for about 3 weeks. (I breast fed for a total of about 4 months). The past week I have had off and on cramps, emotional, and moodiness. Is it because I just stopped breasf feeding?? I couldnt be pregnant could I? could it just be a loooong PMS? What is going on with me?

My mom and I need help. My brother has been VERY whiney these past couple of days!!! Today, ALL morning he's been crying! We've fed him, let him crawl around, changed him, put him to sleep, HE DOESN'T STOP CRYING!!!! It's been like this for 5 hours!! We need to know what's wrong!!! He's usually not like this but today is very crazy.

And after we were about to head off to go eat somewhere, he cries even HARDER and LOUDER, and he pukes all over himself.

I HATE seeing him cry, it makes me sad. I just don't know how to help it, so anyone please let me in on ANY advice? I want to raise this kid just right.

My son is getting on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. He'll push with his hands and go backwards. Is he about to crawl???

He'll be 6 months old in two days. He already sits up on his own, rolls over. But yesterday he freaked me out by pulling himself up into a standing position. :-( My babies growing up.

Is he going to crawl really really soon? If so I'm going to have to finish baby proofing. That and could anyone suggest some baby gates and where to get them?

A co-worker had his now one year old son circumcised. The doctor said that the original doctor didnt remove enough skin. The doctor then booked another appt to finish the job. My co-worker said his sons penis looks like a "elephant trunk." I told him my son had that same look. But he was a chunky little fart and as he got older and leaner that look went away. So anyhow have anyone else seen this on thier sons?

Also why did you choose to circumcise your son? I did it bc I didnt want him to need it later on. I heard too many stories of guys/boys needed it sone later. I didnt want that to happen to him. Also for cosmetic reasons too I guess. This isnt a question to rile everyone up on how its bad to circumcise your sons. If you want ot vent go ahead. But if you have some answers it would be appreciated.

He used to sleep 3-5 hours at a stretch. However, now he is always hungry since he's gotten so big. He doesn't eat when he's not hungry so I know that it's not comfort eating. Anyone have any ideas? Do I simply keep up the every 2-3 hour 4-6 ounce feedings until he's four months old? Do I ignore the Ped and give him really watery rice cereal? Anyone with experience?

She used to go from 7 to 7-ish but since she had her last lot of immunisations 4 weeks ago she has started waking a couple of times in the night. Last night she woke on the hour every hour. My husband says don't pick her up, let her cry herself back to sleep. I know he's probably right but can anyone help with more specific instructions please? I am breastfeeding and she has started solids on the advice of my health visitor.

I have a seven week old biracial daughter. I am caucasian, father is african american. She looks exactly like me, pale complexion, blue eyes and reddish brown hair. The father knows he is the father, no qustions there, but what do i tell everyone that cannot possibly conceive the fact that he is the father? Even the delivery room nurse told my sister in the hall at the hospital that he couldn't be the dad not knowing she was my sister. I know it shouldn't matter what others think, I have been blessed with a healthy daughter but how can i respond to these offhanded remarks?
