It probably is diaper rash. I like Desitin myself, but I'm sure there are lots of things out there that work well too that I have not tried. Apply it liberally, and it should be gone by morning.

If it doesn't go away by morning, and it gets worse, it might be a yeast infection. A doctor can prescribe Nyastatin or you can try an over the counter topical yeast medication.

If the rash comes and goes frequently over the next couple of weeks, then I would venture to say it's the wetwipes or the diapers. Wetwipes are big culprits, especially the ones that are scented (I love them, but they have bothered several of my babies lil bums). So I stick to the unscented ones. Continue to keep the rash gone by using Desitin (or other topical diaper rash treatment), and if you still have problems, it might be the diapers.

Naturally, if a diaper rash ointment does not work in a couple of days, and/or it gets worse, please take her in.

It could be just heat rash too, and a little air won't hurt no matter what it is.

Have a great day!

He could have gotten hot or might be teething in the next month or so and its probably a normal diaper rash. After his bath, let him air dry a bit. You can put diaper creams or baby vaseline on the rash and then use pure cornstarch baby powder. Change his diaper often and it should go away in 24 hours. Good luck!

The best stuff in the world for diaper rash is Dr Smith's rash ointment, you can find at Walgreen's or CVS....it is the only thing that ever works on my daughter...
