Why do so many people think that disposable diapers are more environmental friendly than cloth? They are ruining our landfills. They take years to break down. Also, human waste should not be in a land fill. Will evidentually contaminate ground water.

My one month old daughter had been really fussy today and straining to poop. She just pooped and it was just a little and it was hard. Like a rabbit pellett type poop but larger about one inch. Should I call the doctor? Or is this okay?

Just curious. I had my daughter on July 23rd of this year so it's been almost 4 months now. I had her vaginally and I tore & had some stiches. I wouldn't say it still "hurts", but everything down there just feels different. When we try to have sex, it feels tighter in weird places and creates a pulling (almost like tearing) sensation, not bad, just uncomfortable. Not to mention, I'm in total mommy-mode. I'm not really interested in sex. Thank goodness my husband is as into our daughter as I am. By the end of the day after we both work and come home and take care of her we just crash for the night. On the weekends I'm so excited to spend time with her I'm just not really in the mood to have sex, you know? I've discussed this with my husband so he doesn't feel that I'm neglecting him. I also got an IUD about a month ago and I've been spotting EVERYday since :(

I'm 16 and gave birth to my first child two weeks ago today. The birth went well and I didn't tear, have any complications or need any stitches but I'm still bleeding heavily and in some pain. I'm very conscious of the work I'm missing at school and although I don't want to leave my baby, I don't want to be another teen mum relying on benefits and I am determined to get good grades. How soon should I be going back? I asked my midwife and she just said when I felt ready...

My baby will soon be three weeks old, and I think he is already spoiled. I have fallen asleep with him in my arms a few times late at night because I was just too tired to sit up with him, and now, it's like he won't even sleep in his bedside bassinet because he thinks he is supposed to sleep in my arms. As soon as I lay him down in is bassinet, it's like he realizes that he is not in my arms anymore, and starts crying, and now, it' s not only happening at night, it's happening during the day also. Any suggestions on how I can break my baby out of this habit?

I know the recommendation is bare foot till 2 years old or light-weight flexible shoes. The salesman at Stride Rite told us that my son already has a wide feet & allowing him to go barefoot or wear light-weight shoes will only make his feet more wide.
I'll be asking our pediatrician next week. Any info on this?

My husband and I are not well on finances and have two cars. Mine will be fixed up by December and should be reliable for the next two years. His could go at anytime.

He seems to think we should lease a used car and trade in one of ours for cash down. It concerns me though. When you have medical bills, emergencies... we still need to go on a honeymoon! And with only one person working I think it would be foolish to buy something... he believes we could afford it I think we would loose it.

My 8 month old has a cold. Sneezing, runny, stuffy nose etc. Since cold medicine worked wonders for his first cold, I was angered when I went to the pharmacy and learned that they werent selling infants cold medicine anymore. By it being flu season I did not want the cold to get worse so I took him to the doc. The doc told me to get saline nose drops for him. I immediately thought how is this going to help with a cold. The doc told me that it will help with all the symptoms and eventually the cold will go away. I used the drops according to how the doc said but his nose is still running. Is his nose suppose to keep running? I have to keep wiping and suctioning out his nose. After a day, I called the doc about my concern and once again she told me that they work, but that I can bring him back in again to be looked at. Does this stuff really work? Any experiences or advice? Thanks

I'm expecting twin boys and I'm deciding on what type of furniture I want to put in their nursery. The goal is for them to share a crib for several months at first. I know I wil need 2 cribs so I dont want to spend a lot of money on one. I was looking into some of the combo sets because they take up less space as well as they are lower priced. However, after looking at some of the reviews..I'm a little nervouse. So basically I need to get 2 good quality cribs and a changing table. I also need a good amount of dresser space, but baby dressers seem to cost a lot, should i get a regular dresser? Does anyone have any suggestions? Please give me names of good products that wont cost so much or other suggestions. Thanks

My daughter is way too dependent on the bottle... but hates getting her milk from the sippy. Do I just take the bottle away all at once or gradually? She's 13 months and I want her completely off the bottle by 18 months. I've been trying to break her from falling asleep with the bottle, which was hard this weekend, but I think it will be better this week (as long as I can get her babysitter to do what I'm doing). Any help and insight would be great! Thank you!!

She's been eating fruits for awhile, apples, bananas, pears, but they don't fill her up. When can a baby start eating veggies? What signs should I be watching for? Maybe a good website? Thanks everyone.

He'll be 3 weeks old on Thursday and he eats 4 oz of formula every 3 to 3 1/2 hours. I've been looking online at how much he should be eating because now he's acting like he's still hungry. Is this weird? He got weighed at 2 weeks and he had already passed his birth weight.

i am doing a project for my consumer behavior class on the consumption habits of first time mothers when choosing a daycare service. One of the key factors i need to find is which method of search you used to chose your daycare (i.e. internet, word of mouth, commercials).

i figure that you all have been there you would be the best people to ask. If you could provide me with that information along with any other informations that you think might be helpful to me about how you went about purchsing the daycare service, that would be great. Thank you all so very much.

When I was tested at 36 weeks for Group Strep B, the test came back negative. My husband and I opted to save our baby's cord blood, and the cord blood bank called our pediatrician and told them they found Group Strep B in the cord blood. My son is now 10 days old and seems completely healthy to me- not showing any symptoms of being sick. My doctor says we shouldn't lose sleep over this, that she contacted Infectious Disease personnel and they think there's nothing to worry about, just to keep an eye on him and if he seems ill to call the doctor (which we would do anyway). My question is- has anyone else had this experience? Is it possible that I suddenly got Group Strep B in the last couple weeks of pregnancy after the test? Is it likely that there was contamination of our son's cord blood, either at the hospital or by the cord blood bank? Please, as much as they tell me not to worry, I am worried. This is my baby, and I would be devastated if anything happened to him.

Hi, my baby girl is constipated on and off. She is almost 4 months. She is breast fed except for 2 oz of juice (apple/prune) per day to help keep her regular. My mother in law decided to give her some pureed prunes to help, since she hasn't gone all weekend. She ended up feeding her a whole jar! She said the baby was eating them down, not spitting them out, and that she was screaming for more. And she finished her bottle after all that. OMG this baby has never even had rice cereal before. I left a message for the ped, but I am having an anxiety attack right now. Is this going to hurt her?????

Or is it just him testing his voice? Please help...
