I am starting to worry that I will not have everything I need when this baby comes. I have all the obvious things; crib, stroller, carseat and clothes and his cute winter outfit but I was just wanting to stock up while I am still pregnant and able to go out shopping in a whim. I was thinking about stocking up with some diapers, how many of each size should I purchase? What other things did you you moms wish you would have purchased before your baby was born but didn't think of it until after they were born? Thank you!

OK something has got up my nose and I need to moan and get opinions. We are moving to be near family soon. A few months ago I left my freezer in my father-in-laws garage for storage and his girlfriend "lent" it to her daughter to use, which was fine. I now need it back and have been told it "might get broken if they bring it back" and the girlfriend is going to replace it for me for xmas. Apparently its going to be a joint xmas pressie for me, my partner and my six month old baby. Now the reason im annoyed is twofold: 1- she should replace it anyway and not as a xmas pressie and 2- why would a 6 month old baby want a freezer as a xmas pressie! I s not about what I get as a gift but more out of principle, she took freezer, she should replace it! This woman drives me mad!! Am I unreasonable? I know its not really a big deal on the scale of things but I'm annoyed

My wife and I are expecting our first child sometime around Christmas, and I have a question regarding a baby and a cat. We have a long-haired cat about 2-3 years old.

We're concerned about the cat jumping in the crib and craddle - whether the baby is in their or not. What can be done to prevent this?

We'd like to avoid having cat hair in the crib and keep the cat out of the crib. Any advice? I've heard there's a baby net/canopy that can be hung above. Anyone use this? Is it recommended? What other idea's have you used?

Thanks.

I have noticed that many babies, on occasion, are bowlegged when they first are learning to walk. Is this to be expected and how soon does this issue correct itself? What should a caregiver do if the problem isn't corrected, say, after the first year of walking?

Just wondering because I have always noticed this and never knew where to begin a search to find an answer.

I know this is strange, but I remember soon after giving birth, that I thought I felt my baby move. It may just have been my mind or my muscles. But I had to remind myself that I already had my baby. Did anyone experience this?

I want to buy our new pram/pushchair so it is ready for us when our baby is born. Thats me being sensible and forward planning. My wife says I cant because its BAD LUCK to have it in our house before the birth.
Has anyone out there ever heard this superstition and do they believe it?

I am just curious because my daughter is 3 and she seems to have alot of the traits for the triple X chromosome syndrome. But if they test for chromosome abnormalities when they are born with bloodwork then I will know that it is impossible. I am pretty sure they do but I figured I would ask on here. I will call the doctor as a last resort but I figured I would try here first. Thanks so much!!!!

My daughter is 4 weeks old and hasn't had any vaccines yet. I'm stuck in the middle of 2 extremists on this issue. My mom thinks I should not give her ANY because they cause all these bad reactions and autism, etc. Then my bf thinks I should give her ALL cause he has a family member with polio and knows how bad these diseases can get. I feel like I'm going to get blamed if she has any bad reactions to a shot or if she gets any diseases...Please help. What do normal people do about vaccines??

My neice is 19. She has a 9 month old son and is 6 months pregnant. She is having some complications with this pregnancy.. The Dr told her she would not be able to work for the rest of her pregnancy, so she quit her part time job. She has to go to the Dr. 2-3 times a week so they can monitor her baby. I am a stay at home mom of 4. I offered to watch my 9 month old nephew while she has Dr. appointments to try to help out. She wants me to watch her from 8:00 to 5:30 on the days she has appointments. I agreed to watch him that long for $20 dollars a day. She lives at home and has the support of our entire family, but now everyone is turning on me. They think I should keep the baby for free. Am I being unfair? I feel I'm being taken advantage of because I don't work outside the home. HELP

I am pregnant with my first baby and I plan on breastfeeding. Should my baby nurse from one breast for about 10-15 minutes, get burped, then switch to the next? Or should I let him try to finish from just one? If he does nurse from both, will I have remaining milk to pump from both? If he nurses from just one should I pump from the one he didn't nurse from? Lastly, I want others to feed him (breastmilk from the bottle) when he gets older so he can be used to the breast. I still want him to be drinking breastmilk though and I know you can freeze it for up to 3 months. So the milk that I pump I can just freeze or throw out right? Please answer each question if you can. It will be very helpful and I'd really appreciate it =] Thanks everyone!

My mum lives 3and 1/2 hours away ( on a good journey ) and i really miss her - I have a 12 week onld boy and i am not finding mothering hard just being lonely.
have made some friends at a mother and baby group but still find myself wanting my mum nearby.
I am also now scared to go shopping as some guy in Waitrose watched me breastfeed my boy and then when i went to leave the store he accused me of trying to steal the nappies which were under my pram - i had a reciept from boots and a bag tied to them to say where they cam from but he sid he saw me take them on CCTV!!!
Now i am afraid to go to the shops on my own sometimes i don't take the reciept as i end up with millions in my bag i only took one this time because i forgot my points card. Also they ask if you need a bag now because they want to save the amount of plastics being used i always say no because everything can just go under the pram. Any ideas i am now worried i could be heading for PND!!

My little one (4 months today) has been very fussy as of late ... Yesterday, she burst out crying in the grocery store, which is very unusual; but, she calmed when I picked her up. She didn't have a temp and the rest of the day was "ok". She woke me up screaming tonight, which she never does ... Again, no temp; I nursed her back to sleep. Just wondering if this is common with teething. She's been drooling for weeks and the world is a giant chew toy for her. I know teething causes fussiness, but this sounds more like pain crying. I'm calling the doc first thing in the morning, but am just curious if this behavior sounds like possible teething?? Anyone have any similar experiences?
