Firstly, it is common for newborns to poop 4 times a day. It means that he is eating well and quite healthy. If the soy formula is making his poop runny for more than two days, then I would switch back to the previous formula and maybe mention it to the doctor at his next visit. But if you are really worried then take him to the doctor about it as I really cannot tell you what is healthiest for your child, I have no idea what kind of health issues he has or hasn't. I can only tell you that if he is otherwise a very healthy newborn, then you can switch to another formula that you think may be better for him. Nestle Good Start is very good for newborns. Soy should only be used as a last resort to milk based formula because it is usually used for babies that have allergies to proteins in the milk formula. So be sure that you try others before doing soy. Also doctors don't know everything. You should follow your mother instincts because mothers are usually right about their children, it is a gift of mothering. Take advice from the doctor if you feel worried, otherwise just try the other formula or whatever. Diarrhea usually indicates some kind of intolerance and I would try to switch as quickly as possible.

What do you mean by "pass motion"? I'm confused. Anyway, if your baby has diarrhea for more than a day or two, take him to the doctor. Babies can become dehydrated very quickly with prolonged diarrhea.
