If you use the peri-bottle (the squirt bottle they give you in the hospital), and fill it with luke to warm water and use it the entire time you are peeing, you probably will not notice any stinging. I use it like that for about a week.

The rest will depend on if you had an episiotomy, or if you tore considerably, and have stitches..etc. I felt normal the day after giving birth once. Most often, I'm sore for a while, some births were harder than others when it came to recovery time. The harderst and longest recovery was after a 4th degree tear (through the rectum) and I was sore for about 3 weeks, by the my 6 week checkup I didn't realize how sore I was still until I had the papsmear and internal exam. I felt raw on the inside still. I still felt a little like that at 10 weeks.. by 14 I felt completly normal again. Like I said, that was my longest recovery.

You will feel normal within a couple of weeks (give or take), but will notice it, if you are up too long, or if you try to have sex.

From my experience with 3rd degree tares, it took about 2 weeks for no pain (although the pain wasn't too bad) & I waited for the ok from the doc at 6 weeks to have sex. It did hurt & depending on the position, it didn't feel normal for a couple months after that. I was finally pain free during sex at about 4-5 months after giving birth.
I went against my doctors orders (stupid) and was WAY to active after giving birth. My son's nursery was on the second floor which meant a lot of running up and down & a torn stitch or two. I also went a little overboard with trying to keep our house in perfect order which ended up being useless anyway.

So, I'd suggest to you & know for myself the next time around- take it easy and relax as much as possible in those first couple weeks of healing. All that matters is that you & the baby are well taken care of. The rest will work itself out.

Going to the bathroom felt better after about a week. I had stitches though - I'd imagine it's less time if you don't.

My daughter is 6 months old and sex is still uncomfortable. Again, I think the stitches are partly to blame.

Other than that, I physically started to feel better when I started to get a little more sleep. For me, that meant co-sleeping with the baby, as she still gets up a minimum of 3 times a night, usually 5-6.

My bleeding final for type of three weeks, on the fourth grew to become into in basic terms a pink discharge. so a techniques as workout, i will wait until after 3 weeks, and if it enables use some abdomen wrap, back help belt or postpartum help belt. It enables with the soreness, additionally placed on it once you carry the child, you would be plenty greater delicate. whether do not save it each and all of the time as I did by using fact once you do you abdomen muscle are actually not exercised and once you're taking it of each little thing " hangs down" like earlier. stable success, right here couple of months would be a undertaking.

I agree everyone is different depending on your situation. I can tell you that I had my baby almost 4 months ago now and I tore with her (she was 7lbs. 15 oz. and came out FAST), so I had some stiching. It hurt to pee for a few weeks, I noticed more pain when I tried to STOP peeing, it lasted for about 3 months, but that's me. It wasn't unbearable painful, just uncomfortable. I am still uncomfortable during sex, I posted a question about that yesterday. I got mixed answers about when it gets better, but just know that everyone's body is different and it takes time to heal. Try to concentrate on your new bundle of joy & your relationship with your SO. Good luck & congrats! :)

Oh yeah, and I agree with the post above mine, take it easy. I was trying to clean my house like crazy too! I squatted down to put some pots & pans away about 1.5 weeks after giving birth, BIG mistake!! I had to lay down & take some pain meds.

Eh, I felt fine after about a week pain wise. Sex still hurts sometimes and it's been 3 months. But we started having sex at 4 weeks and things were for the most part fine.

Everyone's different. Don't feel bad if you hit a specific time and you're not 100% by then.

Its stops hurting to pee in like a day or two.. depending on if you tore or not.

Sex doesnt hurt usually after the 6 weeks, although its longer for some women.

There is no set time for anything.

I didnt hurt to pee after the first two days, and I had sex 7 weeks after.

Every birth is different and the recovery time for every woman is different. Some of the factors will be determined with your over all health at the time of conception. The easier time you have having your baby, usually the easier time you will have recovering. I have known of some women taking up to a year to fully recover because of complications they experienced with childbirth. Be patient and eat right and get rest and moderate exercise.
Don't forget to take a vitamin supplement. My own births were different with varied recovery times.

I felt completely back to normal after 5 weeks post partum. That's when I resumed sex and felt ok to do everything else as well. As far as peeing and it not stinging, that only took a week.
