I have a 4 day old baby and I'm trying to breastfeed her. My nipples are VERY sore and cracked although Iam putting on cream etc. Still waiting for midwives visit to advise on correct latching. Last night whilst breast feeding baby started spitting out milk with blood in it, making me very upset for her. I really dont want to use powdered milk but I was thinking for the next 2-3 days until my nipples get better can I use it in addition to pumped milk? will she still latch on if i do this?

my 11 month old baby seems rather small. his next check up is not until next month. at his 9 month check up he weighed 17lbs 4oz. he is not a chubby baby at all. his started out well at his first few months check up he was always in the 90th percentile, at his 9month check up he was in the 15th percentile. the doc said there was nothing to worry about. I feed him regualr meals that the rest of the family is eating, including friuts, veggies and fruit juices. he doen't seem to want fomular anymore either, he drinks maybe one bottle a day. his appetite is good one day and then will barely eat anything the next day. any suggestions to help my baby put on some weight?

My baby girl is due in 3 weeks and I still don't have a name for her. Will they let me take her home without giving her a name? And do you have any suggestions for baby girl names?

I have 5 other kids but none of them talked this early. He looks right at me and says Mom.. not mama, and he does it alot and smiles. And he says blah when daddy says blah to him and he has said what after we have said it to him several times. I am wondering if other 6 months olds are doing this. In all actuality he is 6 months today !

I just had a baby girl named Lola she is a newborn sometimes she has trouble sleeping at night. My husband and I have been waking up ever hour to hold her and then put her back to sleep. Can anyone tell me if there are any toys to help babys fall asleep or just something that might help.

I hear a lot of people complaining about breastfeeding - saying they get nasty comments about breastfeeding in public, that breastfeeding is "too hard" for them, and that they can't do it. But the truth is, only about 1% of women truly can't breastfeed. So instead of attacking, I want to hear from other moms: what would help you to be able to nurse your baby easier? Special nursing rooms at family - oriented destinations? Free lactation consultants for as long as new moms need them? I want to hear what you'd like to help make nursing as easy as possible for you.

She seems to do well with them, but her father is worried that she may choke on them. My 3 yr old never had a problem with them when he was her age, but he had more teeth.

I have a 6-month old girl. Is it me, or are things like car seats and ESPECIALLY strollers freaking ridiculous with how hard they are to fold or strap-in? Do they really need to make them THAT hard to fold or buckle?

And don't get me started on the clothes. Anything more complicated than a sleeper with snaps running straight down the middle gets chunked. No fussy overalls w/straps for us. My girl hates it almost as much as I do.

Thankfully, our car seat has one set of straps and one buckle. That's it. We got lucky with an easy stroller, too, the last one we had was too difficult to fold & it now looks like The Terminator got a hold of it.

Also, our 6-mo old lately seems to start acting fussy if she sees me eating anything even if I just fed her. We feed her baby cereal. Do 6-month olds recognize and crave "real" foods? I have to admit, I get really aggravated if I'm bothered when eating, I realize it will have to be dealt with eventually but I didn't think this early. Tips?

my baby is due jan 2. but anytime after 37 weeks is full-term. that is what my doctor told me. anyways if he comes at 37 weeks or 38 weeks that will be before christmas. should we get him some presents or forget it? i'm not really sure. i know he won't be able to open anything or care at all. he will probably just sleep.lol. also what about next year? i like to think in advance and buy presents for the following christmas all throughout the year. what type of toys, ect. does your 1 year old like? also what would you get for an 18 month old? i've looked at lots of toys and it seems that alot of them are pretty much the same thing. pretty boring. I'm looking for something that is a little different but not too expensive. plus something to use for the whole year until the next christmas if not longer. something they will really enjoy. thanks.

I keep hearing men say " My wife won't get off her a-s_ after pregnancy and when breast feeding a baby. Which of you women have a good husband that understands you just carried for 9 months and passed through your body a small human being or married to one of these idiots.

I had my son three months ago, and even though I have lost all but six pounds of my 41-lbs weight gain, I still have a little flab on my tummy. I've been doing situps, but they don't seem to be helping. I'm still eating light (about 1200 cals or less a day) and loosing weight. Will the flab go down with the last little bit of weight? Will time help the stretched abdominal muscles? Or are there different kinds of exercises to help?

I'm using Playtex bottles to feed my 6 week old daughter. The regular shaped nipples didn't work well for her, so I switched to the orthodontic nipples. Unfortunately these only come in latex, and the box says not to sterilize them after each use. I don't feel good about that. I use a microwave steam sterilizer. Is it safe to sterilize the latex nipples?

How can we break this?? what is your baby doing or did at this age? When will he start to sit on his own and when will he start crawling? Whats the average time line :) THANKS!!
