Why would you mix? If the baby will take it give pedalyte by itself. give it to him that way. It does have an awful taste, and if needed can be mixed with formula. My infant son was on pedalyte for 6 months because of 7 abdominal surgeries, he refused to take it after a while, so we had to mix with breast-milk. I am sure that if you are using formula you should mix it the same as if it were water. If breast milk, it does not matter. I would not use much breast-milk to start with just in case baby refuses to take, just because you do not want to waste the breast-milk.

You should actually have you baby drink Pedialyte for 4 to 6 hours instead of formula. This will help your baby get rehydrated after vomitting or diarrhea. If you baby is eating solids keeping giving baby food such as bananas, rice cereal, mashed potatoes and carrots.

dont mix them. Formula is made to be mixed with water only. If your baby is vomiting or had diarrhea, feed him his milk as usual and offer pedialite between feeds or after each vomit or bm.
