Swing, bouncy seat. Make sure the swing reclines all the way. It'll be a lifesaver. I also highly recommend getting a Swaddle-Me blanket or twenty! They really do help babies sleep better.
I would only buy a package or two of newborn sized diapers because some babies don't use them at all, depending on how big the baby is. If you need more, you can always run and get some. I'd focus on size one. Buy two or three different brands so you can see what you like and don't like. Some babies wet through certain brands, or they are too sensitive to them.
Make sure you buy the sensitive wipes for the first few months until you know what his skin is like.
Mittens so he doesn't scratch his little face. If you plan to swaddle, then it's not necessary, as his hands will be all tucked under while he sleeps!
Baby monitor. A lot of people think they won't need it set up right away or that they won't need one for a few months because baby will sleep with them. That's all fine and well, but newborns sleep 16 hours a day and you won't be. So, if you want to leave the room and don't want to feel panicked about leaving him (as a first time mommy, you probably will), get a monitor for peace of mind. I recommend the Angelcare monitor because it is a pad that goes under the mattress and detects his breathing.
Good luck, have fun!
EDIT: I second the need to stock up on snacks, frozen pizzas, and whatever else. If you can, make casseroles, spaghetti sauce and meatballs, taco meat, lasagna, whatever you can make and throw in the freezer in single or double portions. WAY easier if it's already in there and you don't have time to cook. This way, it's just reheating.

When i was pregnant, we bought everything i could think of and decorated a beautiful nursery. Most of the things I just had to have sit unused and outgrown! Stock up on lots of wipe refills (they are cheaper than the boxed and save a little plastic), baby soap and lotion. I would get about 3 pkgs of each size diaper, up to size 3, although you may find you really don't like the brand later. I started with pampers, i have since regained my sanity and simply use parents choice (the walmart brand), The only difference i have noticed is in the price.
I always wished i had gotten a sling to keep my Lil boy close while did housework. A swing is a must for a newborn, a bouncy seat is also helpful. A rocking chair is a must! Socks Socks and more Socks!!! No matter how many sets you get, you will still hunt for matching pairs. I recommend buying 2 sets of the same socks, that way you have four of the same. It makes it a little easier to find. Shopping for a new baby is hit and miss, you will buy so much that will never get used and at the same time realize how much you forgot to get. I shop a lot at thrift stores, you can a lot of new or barely worn clothes for cheap. Some outfits only get one wear anyway. Good luck and enjoy every minute, they go by so quickly!

#1 RELAX. Smile, and take a breath. First off, if you've got the basics, you're good. Get a 80 (or so) pack of newborns, normally, they will go through that size the quickest. Maybe then get 2 or 3 packs of 1's, and then 1 of 2, 3, and 4's (so that when your little one suddenly doesn't fit his/her current size, you don't have to panic for a new size, you've got some to start. Also, maybe grab a big box of wipes refills (they refill like 5 of the plastic boxes) parents choice at walmart was less than 20 bucks.
Get a boppy, whether you are breast or bottle feeding, those things are AWESOME. While I was pregnant, I used it to sleep to prop me up on those uncomfortable nights! If you do decide to breast-feed, get a couple bottles and a canister of formula, Just In Case. You never know what will happen.
For baby, thats about it, so long as you have a safe bath-tub, and I'm sure you have loads of bathstuff, it sounds like you're good. However..
Get yourself some comfortable clothes (c-section or natural, you're gonna need'em!) Cereal bars, snacks, etc, for late nights and meal times interrupted. Invest in some new dvds (again, for the nighttimes) and bath bubbles for yourself. Don't forget, you're going to need coddled just as much as this little one, in order to not get run down!
Good luck, you're going to LOVE motherhood!!
(I hope I helped, I have a tendency to tangent)
EDIT: Not to be rude, but it is EXTREMELY unsafe to have sex (or put ANYTHING up there) for 6 WEEKS, not 2. Your body needs to heal, you will have open sores in there, do you really want THAT touching it? If you just can't stay away from each other, and you have time like that, have dinner together instead, so you don't make the mistake of getting pregnant too soon, which would cause damage to you and your baby.
Think of your health, not getting busy.. Sex fiends do not need babies.

Diapers, (pampers have ended up being the ones that work best for my son...) don't get very many newborn sizes, or even size ones. We got a bunch of 1-2's and he has fit in them for a long time now! Baby wipes are good, I recommend the Pampers sensitive... they are nice and soft on their little bums! Burp cloths are important, whether your breastfeed or not, receiving blankets for swaddling, white onesies, and a boppy pillow!! I also just got a JJ Cole BundleMe thing for his carseat for the winter and it is AWESOME... no more in and out of snowsuits and stuff, they are easy to use, just stay in the carseat, and just really really warm for the baby! I HIGHLY recommend one of these!
Good luck with the baby! Enjoy every minute, because each one goes by sooo fast!

I stocked up on wipes and diapers. 6 packages of newborn and 6 size ones. I used all the newborns up. Some babies go right into size one tho. make sure you have baby soap, shampoo. You don't want to giveyour baby a bath and then realize you don't have that stuff. Laundry detergent. When someone asked me what I wanted I said detergent and thank good I did because my daughter is allergic to all the other soaps so I have to use the baby detergent and that save a lot of money when people gave that to me a a gift. That's all I can think of for now. Good luck and congrats!!

I stock up on diapers and it was great. I didn't have to worry about diapers for months. As far as size goes, I used Pampers Swaddlers and I bought around 5 packages of newborn-they are very small, so keep receipts in case you have a very large baby. You will need more of the next size. Most babies stay in them awhile. I can't tell you exactly how many to buy, it depends on how much you want to spend. Also, you didn't mention a changing table. Some moms never use them, but, I have used mine every single day for the last 16 months. I love it. I hate changing my baby on the floor because it hurts my back. Also, it's good for after bath time to put on lotion, good for dressing baby, good for temperature taking, good for everything really!! I also used way more burping cloths than I thought I would. I never knew how much babies spit up. Blankets, the really soft cotton kind, (I get them at Gymboree, Babies R Us, or A Children's Place), they are great for swaddling.
Don't worry, you will never have everything you will need, but, you will get it and everything will be great!! Good Luck.

The only thing about stocking up on clothes or diapers is that the baby grows so quickly...you may buy tons of diapers in a Newborn size, and only use 2 packs. Just buy an assortment of things; I'm sure you'll be just fine.

Stock up on some diapers - different sizes. Don't buy too many newborn sizes. Plenty of wipes, baby shampoo, soaps, powder, lotions. Stock up on groceries!! I wish I would have done this with my third child. I had her in the dead of winter and it was such a pain to get out and grocery shop. Stock up on everything. Frozen foods, cleaning supplies, laundry soaps, etc. Make some meals and freeze them for those days when you just can't seem to get anything done. Also, make sure you have newborn hats, and mittens for the baby. Plenty of baby blankets. Baby Dreft stain spray - lifesaver on those baby stains.
Good luck and Congrats!

Diapers and a lot of them! Start with size 1.... the newborn size may not be needed at all if you have a 7-8 lb baby. Go up to size three if you have the money to do so. Otherwise, make sure that you have onesies, sleepers, hats, wipes, butt cream, powder, baby bath, a pacifier or 8 if you plan on using them, um... receiving blankets and a few heavier ones, a first aid kit, bottles and formula if you don't plan on nursing...
And don't forget about yourself! Get some comfortable postnatal clothes that make you feel GOOD. Get a good nursing bra that is comfortable and flattering. If you are nursing, get a breast pump and bottles. Get yourself some nice bubble bath for your ME time. And don't forget condoms if you feel like getting frisky! My hubby and I didn't make it two weeks after we had our son!

diapers are a grate thing you can stock up on, formula to if your using it. bottels, undershits and sleepers, also you may want to get a bassinet or something smaller then the crib for the baby to sleep in. all my children wouldnt sleep in the crib until they were around4-5months of age. and going out to find one once they were here was a little difficult as you couldnt shop arround. i also couldn't of lived with out my snugli/sling it makes you able to cuddle baby as they are used too but you can still have use of your hands.
