Still a parents choice. In the future it will probably be illegal. Currently it is illegal to remove the prepuce of a baby girl, but legal to remove the prepuce of a baby boy. At some point, the 14th amendment will be invoked and they will have to either notch down the Federal FGM law of 1996 or extend those protections to boys. http://www.mgmbill.org
Jewish are told to do so by the 8th day of life. They have a bris usually at their home where they invite all their jewish friends to watch their boy get cut. There is a custom that is sometimes still practiced where the mohel places the babies bleeding penis in his mouth and sucks the blood out.
It is not always done at the hospital. There are hospitals now that refuse to have circumcision take place there.
As of yesterday, Australia banned circumcision in any state hospital.

Legally it is the parents' option. Morally it should be the son's option, though. If you leave him intact, he can always be circumcised as an adult if he wants to. If you circumcise him, he can't choose to have that undone when he's older.
Yes, the eighth day is the day when Jewish boys get chopped. Muslim boys are also ritually circumcised, some at birth and some at puberty. Most men in the world (about 85%)stay intact all their lives and never have any problem. Why not let HIM make this decision?

Yes, the parents still get to choose (although whose penis is it anyway?) in most places anyway.
I believe it is illegal in Sweden, and I know it's banned in public hospitals in almost every state in Australia.
The doctor will usually do it. Jewish people get it done when the baby is 8 days old at a ceremony. Some other people wait 8 days as well. It's to do with a clotting factor or someting.
However circumcision is not only unnecessariy but potentially risky: http://circresearch.googlepages.com

absolutely the parent's decision...
for some religions it is done by a special member of their faith community, not a doctor.
the numbers are changing, the USA is the only country who still routinely does this... no pediatric association of the world recommends this as routine procedure... the foreskin is a working part of the male human body.
think of it this way... would you automatically take out a baby's appendix or tonsils on the WHAT IF chance they get an infection and need to have that removed someday? of course not (though the chances of needing an appendectomy are far greater than an adult circumcision)... same for a foreskin - it does serve a purpose, and when you learn how to clean it properly - it only takes seconds to deal with.

It is up to the parents. Talk to your wishes to your ob-gyn/midwife, and the hosiptal staff before baby is born. Put it in your birth plan if you have one. I'm not sure how circumcision is done I had a girl. I do however think Jewish faith does wait until later in life.

it is completely up to the parents. when i had my son, i had to sign a million and a half forms, just for them to circumcise him. but my mom did not let them do it with my younger brother. he can always get it done later, if he feels like it.

optional. the Bible says on the eighth day after birth. studies have shown that about eight days after birth, the boy's immune system spikes to the highest level it will ever be. hmmmm...i'm not Jewish, but that was when we had my son done. seemed like sound advice.

Yes, it is your decision. Not everywhere will do it in hospital, so check with your OB about the hospital's policy before you go. You can also have it done by a surgeon after you leave the hospital.
