I have a seven week old biracial daughter. I am caucasian, father is african american. She looks exactly like me, pale complexion, blue eyes and reddish brown hair. The father knows he is the father, no qustions there, but what do i tell everyone that cannot possibly conceive the fact that he is the father? Even the delivery room nurse told my sister in the hall at the hospital that he couldn't be the dad not knowing she was my sister. I know it shouldn't matter what others think, I have been blessed with a healthy daughter but how can i respond to these offhanded remarks?

why justify it with a response? if they cannot believe that he is the father, you dont need to waste your time trying to convince them. just smile, and ignore their comments. nothing you say will convince them if they dont want to believe it. besides, to waste your energy is futile, and you need all your time and energy for a bouncing baby that no doubt keeps you so busy. good luck with the little one. just ignore people who are ignorant like that. they are really not worht the time.

Oh dear, you poor thing how annoying that people could be so insensitive.
All it is that your daughter has more of your colouring than his, just like one child can look like one parent and nothing like the other.

If friends say that then they don't know you very well hey? I don't know what I would say. Eventually the truth will be realized that your hubby is the father.

Sometimes the only thing you can do is laugh it off and forgive, cause if you don't, youre the only one that is going to suffer.

Congratulations and all the best!

Ignore those petty and rude comments. They don't deserve to be justified with a response.

You have a wonderful little girl with parents who love her and that is all that matters. She just looks more like you. Don't worry as she grows her looks will change a lot and she might start to take on characteristics of her father too.
My kids both look nothing like me. Its all their dad in their!!
And i get told that all the time!! I just ignore it now. It really doensn't matter to me who they look like as they are mine and that is all that matters

First of all, that nurse was rude and unprofessional to be gossiping about a patient. I don't think you should care what other people think, you have a beautiful daughter and the father knows that she's his. I think that's all that should matter.

Just roll your eyes at them and walk away. You don't need them to tell you who your babies daddy is. Some people just didn't get very many brain cells at birth!!!
