A co-worker had his now one year old son circumcised. The doctor said that the original doctor didnt remove enough skin. The doctor then booked another appt to finish the job. My co-worker said his sons penis looks like a "elephant trunk." I told him my son had that same look. But he was a chunky little fart and as he got older and leaner that look went away. So anyhow have anyone else seen this on thier sons?
Also why did you choose to circumcise your son? I did it bc I didnt want him to need it later on. I heard too many stories of guys/boys needed it sone later. I didnt want that to happen to him. Also for cosmetic reasons too I guess. This isnt a question to rile everyone up on how its bad to circumcise your sons. If you want ot vent go ahead. But if you have some answers it would be appreciated.

When he said elephant trunk. He meant you couldnt see the tip of the penis. Just the skin. I also I agree that another reason to get it done is that its cleaner.

You mean like having a lot of extra flappy foreskin left over? My son has that, all the boys ive ever seen have it too. Their penis' grow and change and it is different as they get bigger. Ive never been worried about it.
I think its stupid that he let his doctor talk him into having it redone- what a bunch of bull.
I had my son done because in our part of the world all the other boys do too. I didnt want his first sexual or locker room experience to be "DEAR GOD WHATS WRONG WITH YOUR THING?!!" its cleaner, its better looking, and it doesnt hurt them when theyre newborns, since they have no fear of the procedure and their not as sensitive in that area then.

I've heard of this happening. I can't believe people care how a baby's penis looks. I think that's sick. They do realise it's going to grow? It needs to have wrinkles so there's skin for it to grow into. Most of these people who are re-circed so it looks tight when they're young end up having problems when they grow. Often there isn't enough skin for an erection especially if they're rather large, and they need more operations as a teen, or they end up with hairy penis or something.
There is no reason for circumcision (no, it's not cleaner) and I will never do it to my sons. Actually from your question it sounds to me like deep down you know it was wrong and your reasons superficial, and are looking for validation. sorry, none here.

This is one of the many reasons why I will never have my boys circumcised. I don't want anyone cutting on such a sensitive part of my child with no medical reason. Religious reasons are the only reasons that make sense to have it done. As long as he knows how to clean himself, he will have no problems. Most countries other than the US do not circumcise their babies. Men who have gotten it done later in life have said that the quality of sex goes way down after circumcision. Do your own research and do it or don't do it for a good reason, NOT just because everyone else is doing it. As your mother always told you... would you jump off a bridge because everyone else was doing it? No? Then why put your son through that for the same reason? It's funny how when you talk about female circumcision, it's genital mutilation, but it's perfectly fine for boys? How much sense does that make? Circumcision was only popularized in the US in the late 1800s to try to stop boys from masturbating. Don't do it without doing your research first.

My 18 month old is not circ'd. And I guess what your friend is experiencing is yet another reason why. Liek you said your son's appearance that you are describing went away. Many times this is not the case as it is never allowed to have that "look" in the first place as too much is taken. This causes scarrign adn often later causes the penis to bend, sometimes painfully, durign an erection. TRUE_One of my husbands experiences this and it's not fun for him to have to live with.
Personally, I'm in my third marriage but when my son was born, his was teh first uncirc'd penis I had ever seen. I didn;t find it offensive or ugly. It was quite natural. It's not liek I spend all day staring at it anyhow that I need to obsess over how it looks LOL A penis is ugly no matter what you do to it LOL I recomend your friend get a second opinion before she allow any further cutting to be done. Best of luck to them :)

is been scientifically proven that less infections and so on occur on babies who have circumsized penises.
a friend of mine had to get it done when he was 21 because he copped an infection.
too much skin, its hard to get it cleaned.
we circumsized my son because of religious reasons (which is for hygienic reasons) - so... i reccommend it for all the ladies having boys...
believe me, it looks much better, and cleaner...
;)
they will thank you for it later
