My son is getting on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. He'll push with his hands and go backwards. Is he about to crawl???
He'll be 6 months old in two days. He already sits up on his own, rolls over. But yesterday he freaked me out by pulling himself up into a standing position. :-( My babies growing up.
Is he going to crawl really really soon? If so I'm going to have to finish baby proofing. That and could anyone suggest some baby gates and where to get them?

And my doctor told me it is normal for babies to start crawling anywhere from 5-9 months. It isn't too early, I was crawling a around 6 months myself, walking at 9 months.

Wow that's so neat! My son is 5 months and 15 days...he can scoot himself around in a circle and just started rolling over about two weeks ago. So congrats on your baby he sounds really advanced and on his way to crawling!
Wal mart has gates, as well as target....but if your looking for something sturdier/bigger I'd go to a baby store like Baby's R Us or something...

It sure sounds like he is ready and walmart has some really good baby gates i always bought safety first gates. ALL babies walk and crawl at different ages but to the poster who said generally its 7-9 months is wrong i have a son who is 11yrs old and he was walking without furniture or help at 8 months of age and was crawling by 4 months. Each baby is different but for the most part babies can crawl at 6 months.
ADD: Yes my son was an early birdie, at everything even in talking and when he lost his teeth, most kids start getting loose teeth at 4yrs of age well my son lost 8 of his teeth just after his 3rd birthday. He was talking full sentences by 18 months, he has kept me very busy over the last 11yrs.

Yes it sounds like it my son started doing that and he crawled within a week/week and a half! Good luck you are going to be one busy woman now! My son was 5 months so it should be any day now all kids are different but he sounds like he is ready to rock and roll!

yup hes getting ready, my nephew whos 7 months started crawling about 3-4 weeks ago....he was doing the rocking thing as well but my sister has hardwood floors and they hurt his knees and he couldnt get a good grip.....they put in a temporary rug and now hes cruisin all around the house!

Yes his getting ready! My nephew walked at 9months we where all in shock so get ready next thing you know he will be walking some baby's are just quick. Babies R us has gates and all types and brands good luck!

probably not its a little early most crawl between 7-9 months hes just starting to practice
