With infants being born almost every year, it makes me wonder where the umbilical cords will end up? Maybe in the trash can, but where do they go from there? This from a parent of four children (three daughters and one son).

Apart from 'mum', 'dad' and derivatives, what was your child's first word?

My baby has couple of 30 min sleeps in the day ,then at 6.30pm she is ready for her night time sleep, but the bad thing is she is still waking every hour, so by the time 4am comes she is then wide awake and i have to get up with her, Then my 3 year old gets up at 6am. Basically i am tired\worn out all day and i have to look after both of them on my own all day without falling to sleep. How can i get my baby to sleep through the night? I don't mind getting up really early, i just don't want to be waking up every hour still. Please help!

My lovely little boy is 6 months old and it SO active. He loves to roll and if I walk out of the room for a second I come back to find him somewhere he shouldn't be and I'm worried he's going to hurt himself before long.

What did you do with your baby when they reached this stage?

I'm reluctant to get a playpen because it would take up what precious floor space I have and make walking around difficult.

Thanks!

My 9-month-old baby keeps trying to escape from restaurant high chairs. He's really skinny so the belt on the chair is useless on him. He just squirms and then stands up in the high chair. I can't keep him in.

I've also tried the shopping cart cover which has its own belt and he escapes out of that as well.

I have no idea what to do. I end up putting him in a stroller but he cries because he can't see everyone around him. In a high chair he's actually quiet...but he tries to stand up. He doesn't do it at home because his high chair at home has a 5-point harness.

Any tips on how to get him to just sit?

Thanks for the advice.

she always ends up crying. her mother rubs olive oil and it works for a while but then it starts again. The baby is only about 6 months old. Is there any treatment for this? Is there anything her mother should use besides the oil?

ok this is going to sound a little crazy.. i am 7 months post pardum i breastfeed my son the first 2 months of his life and then he was put on special formula because of digestive problems.. anyways I am currently pregnant i never really dried up from him, but now that i am pregnant my breast are full again and when i express the nipple i get a white not clear substance (which makes me think its milk). My question is could I possibly pump and get milk and if i could could i give it to my son in a bottle?? Or is that just weird?? So confused but hes digestive things have cleared and Id rather him have breast milk than Formula. Serious educated answers please.. what do you think?

My daughter is almost 9 months old and does not hold her own bottle when I feed her. I don't really care if she does or not, I enjoy holding and snuggling her while feeding. My MIL and SIL were SO UPSET today when they saw she wasn't holding her bottle. My SIL said that it is bad for her development if she doesn't hold it?? Is this true?
I really don't care if she doesn't hold it, I want her off the bottle by a year anyways. She does hold her sippy cup and drink from that on her own.

I had to repost because I forgot to mention that we have to use ready to feed because it is thicker than the powdered Nutramagin so I can't just use bottled room temp water.

So here is my post...Thanks!!

How do you warm your babies bottles, ecspecially in the middle of the night? I am currently using a bottle warmer, which takes forever, and she screams her head off while waiting which isn't good either because of her Gerd. With my oldest we used the ol microwave but now there is so much oh no don't do that. Why? My 11 1/2 year old is still alive! Just asking.. Is the microwave only on the don't do list because of temp or does it break down nutrients??

Thanks!

My 7 month old desperately needs a schedule. He is not napping well in his crib, up many times a night and is CRANKY! We always had problems with him napping in his crib, but it is getting worse and worse and now with him not sleeping well at night, we are desperate! I read No cry sleep solutions, Nightime Parenting, and the Baby Whisperer. Am thinking about trying the EASY shedule, pick up/put down method from the Baby Whisperer. Am wondering if anyone has tried this for an older infant and did it work for you? I don't believe in crying it out. I just want my baby to sleep!
