When my son was about 2 1/2 months old he got very constipated also. His pediatrician told me to try giving him an ounce of water and an ounce of apple juice mixed together. then he told me to try a half of a glycerin suppository. I finally ended up mixing in about an ounce of Manzanilla tea into his formula a couple of times a day for about 3 days, that worked. I remember how horrible I felt to see my baby in pain, I feel for you. I agree with the other moms in that you should take your little one to the doctor first and then try whatever the doctor suggests, but always remember that your "mothers intuition" is the best tool that you have in taking care of your baby. follow your heart and your gut. Good luck and God bless

Are you sure he's really constipated? Babies cry and wince and push and grunt all the time. It DOESNT mean theyre constipated.
If he's constipated he might not go potty every day, or when he does go potty it'll be hard little pellets, or little round balls all clumped together.
If he's breastfed and constipated he's not nursing enough, but breastfed babies dont always poop every day- they can go as long as 3-4 days without a BM. If he's bottle fed you might need to switch to something with less iron.

My 3 month old doesn't poop everyday. Sometimes she'll go a week without. Then other days she'll go several times within 24 hours. As long as they are having enough wet diapers per day they should be fine. Sometimes their bodies are using all the milk they drink and have no waste products.

Why do you think he's constipated? Dry, hard stools?? He might NOT be, you know!
Anyway, if you think he really is, you should take him to the doctor. It's not something you should treat yourself, at 3 months of age.

Take him to a DOCTOR.
Also read the formula directions again, maybe you aren't adding enough water.
