It depends on the area you live in. Around where I live it's about $200 a wk. You should go to Social Services and see what help they can give. That or try to find someone who does daycare out of their home. It's usually cheaper than going to a big center.

At our daycare we pay by the week and the rate is $125 for small children. The cost decreases as the child gets older so, it depends on the age of the child. Ours is a 5 month old. We also have to bring in his diapers and fomula for the day, of course. All daycares are different, but ours does not have a contract so, if we decide to change daycares down the road there is no penalty. You just have to look around, tour the daycares, and you can also compare prices. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like there are many places that do part-time daycare if that is what you may be interested it. It would be even less expensive if you can. Good luck with going back to school! Daycare is expensive, but maybe if you have loan money it can help out with the costs.

Many states offer child care benefits to single moms if they are working or going to school full time. They will pay for a percentage based on your income or 100% if you are going to school. You should call the Department of Human Services for your city to see.

When I was in college, as a single mom, I was able to receive State subsidy, here it is called aspire, they pay all of or a portion of your child care, give medical insurance for both mother and children and a monthly check for expenses.
Child care varies from town to town, state to state, I pay about $175/week for my son. You should call around and get rates, as well as check with your state DHHS and see she qualifies for assistance.

The mother would likely qualify for state subsidy. I would advise her to apply with her Dept of Human Services... same place she would apply for food stamps or medicaid. Also, if she doesn't qualify for that (which I am sure she will) she can try with your local Community Action Agency... they have a separate program to help for moms such as herself. Good Luck!!

It depends on the area you are in and the age of the child, and if it's a home daycare or a daycare center.
