Jesse for a boy.....or maybe Jack.

What names start with 'T' OTHER than the obvious Tyler, Thomas, Taylor. ect. I don't like any of those. My brain is on hiatus and I've been through all the baby name sites....I would like some unique ideas from anyone! Thanks in advance!!

I'm totally aware that babies say, "ga-ga, da-da, and ma-ma," but when do they REALLY begin to communicate verbally? I am also aware that sign-language is another option, meaning that the brain is functioning well. In fact, my eight-month-old is able to communicate through signing clumsily, but her mouth is not accustomed to moving dexterously enough to speak. I would like to know what sort of a jump she has gotten in communicating.

I have a beautiful baby boy almost 7 wks old and I am going insane. He is sleeping all day and staying up from 1 am or so on and will not go back to sleep. I try talking to him and playing with him that kind of thing during the day and keep nights very quiet with the lights low and make very little eye contact and just feed him burp him and put him down and he just gets fussy then cries. Any suggestions?

My 10 month old loves 6 month old baby jar foods, but when i give him 8 month old baby jar foods he hates it! and starts to gag. I figure its because its chunkier, but now he will eat other foods like cheesies, potatoes, or things that i'm eating.

I feel that every baby is a celebration and the mother deserves a shower whether it's baby number 1 or baby number 5.
Some say that the mother has all the things they need for the new baby left over from the last baby. And that they shouldn't register for gifts. Not true especially if they are of different genders. And at the very least they need diapers and wipes. And generally finances are tighter the second, third, ect time around. Maybe not invite everyone you know, but inviting your close friends and family who would most likely buy you a gift regardless of a shower or not and who are happy for your new upcoming baby.

How do you feel about a baby shower for a women having her second, third, fourth, or more child?

We are taking him through all the first foods week by week - beans, carrots, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, applesauce, bananas, peaches, prunes and pears, plus rice cereal. I see that the apparent only difference between "first foods" and "second foods" is that the "first" are only one ingredient and the "second" are mixed ingredients. So can we start him on "second" foods once he's been through all the "first" foods and we have determined that he has no allergies? I'm just curious - I'll be asking my doctor when we take my son to the doctor next month for his shots, but, was wondering if anyone could explain this to me, since I haven't found anything on Gerber's site or anywhere else about when it is OK to switch over to "second". Thanks.

my 4 month old refuses to sleep in his crib. im breastfeeding and the only way i can get him to go to sleep is if i lay down with him and feed, if i move him at all he wakes up. i made a bottle and fed him that until he no longer wanted it. my attempt was on the thought of slowly making the transaction from what his comfort is now to make it easier on both of us. well as soon as i laid down he wanted the breast. i want him to sleep in his crib and have tried several different methods. his needs are met. and i cant afford sleeping 4-5 hpurs a night anymore, i have a 4 yr old that needs me awake and alert in the mornings. Im going to try feeding him formula for night time feedings so that i may be able to have a more sleep to work with but i really need some different advice on getting him out of my bed so i can sleep even better

Am I spoiling him by picking him up, or should I just let him cry? It even happens after I feed him and/or change him, but when we pick him back up he is fine. I don't think there is a medical problem because he is otherwise quite healthy! And he is normally a VERY good baby. What do I do??? Thank you!

It's our first child and we're keen to get a pushchair that we can use from birth for a number of years. We want one where the newborn baby can always face us as we push him (but not in a clipped-on car seat). A carrycot is not important, but having a car seat that can be attached to the puschair when needed is.

Does such a thing exist? It seems that the baby must face away with all travel systems but with the pram styles where the baby lyes facing you there doesn't seem to be the option of clipping on the car seat.
