My daughter is 6 months old and I'm thinking of stopping breastfeeding sometime soon. Up until now she's refused bottles but is now suddenly accepting them. I guess my question is is it better to gradually replace 1 breastfeed a day with a bottle, or to just stop breastfeeding completely. Also how long does it take for the milk to dry up? I'd appreciate any ideas or experiences you'd like to share.

My husband went into the bathroom for a few seconds only to hear my daughter wailing shortly after. He found she had fallen off our bed. I have not been able to think straight since; I even want to take her for X rays and scans just to be sure she suffered no injuries ( especially head injuries). Am i being paranoid? Has this happened to any mums? Is there any paeditrician/ doctor out there who can advice me? I am a nervous wreck! Help!

my daughter will be 6 weeks old on tuse. i know that all babys are different but i was wandering about what age to they start sleeping threw the night or most of the night... i was told that its around week 6 or 8... and that i will know when shes getting ready.. well i have noticed that she eats every 2 hours during the day but at night she only eats at midnight, 4 am and 9 am... now im very lucky that she only gets up those 3 times (i usually go to sleep around 1 am so its only 3 times i have to get up tired) but im just wandering... i was wandering maybe that it was because she was set back on everything because she was in the hospital for over a week, 2 weeks after she was born... is it possible that is the reason or is it jus tnot the age where babys sleep most the night yet? thanks for reading and posting back to me. ya im a first time mom hehe :P

i know everyone is gonna tell me to talk to my doctor, and im going to, i have a doctors appointment on wed. but i have been thinking about this the last couple of days and wanted to see if anyone has ever heard of this before. ok so i had my baby 6 weeks ago and i was thinking about going back on my diet that i was on before so i was talking to a nutristonist a couple of days ago and she told me that i shouldnt go back on my diet until my daughter is a year old, she said it takes 9 months to put the weight on and it will take about 9 months to get the weight off, but that i should give it a few extra months to be safe because if i go on a diet now i will prolly loose alot of weight and fast but when i get off my diet i will gain it back really fast and it will be harder for me to loose it later, if i even can loose some of it. i dont plan on staying on the diet forever jsut until i get to the weight i want, but i am gonna be eating healthyer after i get to my ideal weight.

I just posted the first half of my question a few minutes ago. The second part of this puzzle is that my left nipple is flat. My right one was, but the baby was able to pull it out while breastfeeding. I have to use a nipple shield to feed her from the right side, but I can tell she doesn't get a lot because she doesn't swallow often. I can't pump too much from that side - it won't 'latch on' to the flat nipple. I want to be able to up my supply before it stops altogether. My daughter is 6 weeks 1 day.

At first my supply was low but equal. Now my right breast makes 4 1/2 ounces, and my left only makes 1/2 an ounce. Has anyone else experienced such a huge difference, and more importantly does anyone know how to fix it???

I have twins that are rather tall for their age. They are 6 months and are outgrowing their carriers. Do you have any suggestions on a type of seat I can use for them considering they still need to be facing to the rear? Thanks

my son was born full term. (2 days late =) ) he weighed 7lbs 11oz. and was 21 in long. Now he is 2 1/2 months old and weighs 9lbs. and is 22in long. I took him to his 2 month "well baby check-up" and the doctor said he is in the 25th% for his hight and almost the 5th% for his weight. he should go for his next check-up in 2 months, but i'm worried because the doc wants him back in 2 weeks. and because she briefly mentioned the chance of "failure to thrive". she said the amount he is eating in a day is good. so i guess my question is, why isn't he growing? if he is "failure to thrive" what does that mean, and what can i do to help??? it all caught me off gaurd at the doctors so i didn't think to ask, and 2 week seems like so long to find out. any info will help!

I have a 6 week old baby girl and she loves to eat. She will drink down 4 ounces of formula and in 10-15 minutes wants more, and she will scream the most high pitched horrible cry until you give her more food. Its not just a normal newborn cry it's the most disturbing noise you've ever heard. You would seriously think someone was torturing her. I have tried other things to try and comfort her but nothing will calm her down except the damn bobba. Once the bobba touches her lips the angry red face goes away and she instantly calms down. I am so confused on what to do? I don't want to overfeed her for one, and I am worried about her thinking that screaming like that is the way to get what she wants. Its really frusterating cuz if I even take the bobba out of her mouth for three seconds to readjust her or burp her she will instantly start to scream again. I just don't know what to do??? Any ideas anyone?

Has anyone given their six month old any finger foods if so what? My six month old hasn't got teeth yet but she likes sucking and chomping on things such as a teething rusket biscuit, a pizza crust until it was too soggy I take it off of her she seems to be able to swallow some soggy bits, she watches us eat all the time and she drools and licks her lips and stares its cute but is there any ideas of safe stuff they can hold and suck on.
