my daughter will be 6 weeks old on tuse. i know that all babys are different but i was wandering about what age to they start sleeping threw the night or most of the night... i was told that its around week 6 or 8... and that i will know when shes getting ready.. well i have noticed that she eats every 2 hours during the day but at night she only eats at midnight, 4 am and 9 am... now im very lucky that she only gets up those 3 times (i usually go to sleep around 1 am so its only 3 times i have to get up tired) but im just wandering... i was wandering maybe that it was because she was set back on everything because she was in the hospital for over a week, 2 weeks after she was born... is it possible that is the reason or is it jus tnot the age where babys sleep most the night yet? thanks for reading and posting back to me. ya im a first time mom hehe :P

I think every baby is different. My baby just began sleeping longer this week. She is now 8 weeks old. Her pattern before this was to eat at 1am, 4am, and 7am. All of a sudden she started skipping the 4am feeding. Now she eats at around 1 and then again around 6 or 7am. It's been great to get the 5 or 6 hours of straight sleep! Also, I am breastfeeding her, which many people say will cause babies not to sleep during the night because they don't fill up. Not the case for my little girl! I think it just depends on your child and when they are ready. I know that keeping it dark and quiet seems to help her to sleep better at night- also making sure she's burped well helps my baby out too. Also I keep my baby near me in her playard or swing when she sleeps. She seems to sleep much better that way. She hates being alone. Good luck!

Every baby is different. Also, for starters, most people consider "sleeping through the night" as sleeping 6 hours straight, not necessarily from 8 PM to 6 AM as we would like. My first son slept through the night at 2 weeks. Therefore, when my second son didn't start sleeping through the night until he was 5 months old it didn't surprise me (I knew that I wouldn't be as lucky my second time around - lol!). So, it could be soon or it could be a distant dream for you - although you don't have much time for dreaming at the moment getting up so often during the night. :-)

Count your blessings, that is an awesome schedule for a little one! Both my boys (I'm still pregnant with the third) would wake up once or twice until they were closer to 6 months. They are 4 and 2 and still sometimes wake up in the night, lol. If she is breastfed, she will continue to get up two or three times for awhile, if she is bottlefed, she may start waking up just once or twice a night in the next couple of months. There is no normal age for babies to sleep through the night. In fact, there is pretty much nothing that is not normal for babies and little kids, they are truly strange!

My baby is 7 months old and still wakes up 2 - 3 times a night for a feed. Every baby is different and no baby is ever the same. Do what works for you. She is still so brand new. She will work you into a routine at night.

It can take up to their 2nd birthday for them to completely sleep thru the night. My son slept thru from the day he was born til he was 8 mos then suddenly started waking up once a night to eat. My friends daughter will be 2 in June and still wakes up at night. Just depends on the baby.

i think of that it extremely is a competent concept to get as plenty relax as you are able to. I want that i ought to economic organisation it and then income whilst my toddler has been up all nighttime (no longer an frequently prevalence). a toddler at 3 months old demands around sixteen hours of sleep. An grownup desires approximately 8 consecutive hours. the subject with being a mom, is that we don't get the consecutive hours. I in all probability sleep 10 hours an afternoon. My husband on the different hand, assumes that our little angel is going to be on his sleep time table and continues to be up (taking part in video games frequently) assuming that he will sleep till 5am. Then whilst our son gets up before, my husband is all upset that he did no longer get adequate sleep. he will study finally.

I spoon fed my son baby food (peas) when he was 5 months old the then gave him a bath before bed and that was the first time he slept through the night so I kept doing it and he kept sleeping through the night. I tried rice cereal in his bottle but that never worked, my doctor said there is a difference between putting stuff in the bottle and spoon feeding they get fuller when spoon fed! Good Luck don't worry you will get sleep it's not hard forever!

My son sounds like yours. He was 11 months when he wasn't hungry at midnight or 2 am. I breastfed him for the first 8 months and we nursed through the night. So I think the feeding schedule has lots to do with the sleep.

When he was FULL, he slept deeper and longer hours at night. Best wishes.
