Congrats I also have a 1 month old daughter. I gave birth on feb 19. I am a first time mom and I feel exactly the same way. My husband has a son from a previous marriage and he dosent understand why i wanna hold her and look at her. When I look at her theres this feeling I cannot even describe. I often talk to my husband and hold her and start to tear up saying thisngs like whats gonna happen when she grows up and wont let me cuddle anymore? or what happens when one day she dosent need me and goes off to college? he laughs at me. I often find myself looking in the mirror when im holding her just so I can always remember what it looked like to hold my baby girl in my arms. Shes gonna grow so fast. Shes already so much bigger than the day she was born. Just love her and we both need to sleep ;)

lol.... we did the same thing. when sleep deprivation wears in then you'll start to get cranky. the best advice is: sleep when the baby sleeps. that way you both are rested. it'll be another two months before you get 4 - 5 hours of sleep. some babies cluster feed; when baby eats every hour for 4 - 6 hours straight for days at a time. don't worry about chores

Congratulations!
The answer is, you can't sleep if you're staring at her!! But I'm sure you're afraid that if you sleep, if you blink even, you'll open your eyes again and find that it's her first birthday, or she's off to college... :( And I can't help you there, because it's basically true. :(
Stare away, mama. Enjoy these beautiful moments, and nap when you can. They will be gone before you know it!

Congratulations! I remember that feeling. Don't worry- sleep will come when you least expect it. Probably during breakfast-lol. Don't forget to take lots of pictures. There's no such thing as too many. Take them frequently, because she's going to change every day! Enjoy her now, because before you know it she's going to be a mouthy teenager.

This has to be your first. After the third, all you care about is who will bring the baby to you so you can nurse and who will change her and put her back to bed. It is hard not to stare. I agree. Trust me, you need your rest though. Congrats on the baby!

aaaaawwwww so cute!
but sweetheart get some rest too so that when she wakes up you are so fresh to take care of her with all your energy and you can give her positive energy. if you are non stop awake you will be tired and she can detect you are tired.
Enjoy your bundle of joy... they grow up so fast!
