Take a deep breath friend, it's ok! These things happen, babies are so much tougher than we give them credit for! My daughter fell off the bed when she was about the same age, and screamed the house down! I also freaked out and took her to the doctor. He checked her out and she was fine, and he gave me good food for thought. He said that babies are much, much tougher than adults because their bodies are designed for pregnancy and the birth process. Think about it- how cramped is a baby in the months before his/her birth? And then when labour starts thay get squeezed and crushed by contractions, and then forced out of a strong, muscular ring, all of this is extremely high stress on the body, but they survive unharmed! He told me that there's hardly anythign we can do that will put more strain on their bodies, short of intentionally hurting them. Accidents happen, wait til she starts crawling and toddling! It doesn't reflect on your parenting style at all, and your baby will be ok. don't stress ok?

Make sure your daughter doesn't go to sleep for at least one hour after the fall. If she is not response after the fall you should take her to the closest ER. If she seems fine right now, just keep an eye out for her. Like if she can't eat, sleep, not playing those could be signs of a serious injury to the head. Also if she is crying and you given her some pain medication and it didn't help. I would take her to the ER. Best of Luck!

My son tumbled off the bed a few times. Is she showing any signs of concussion?
"What are the symptoms?
Symptoms of a concussion include headache, dizziness, loss of consciousness, and a lump, cut, bruise or swelling on the head. Other signs are numbness, nausea, vomiting, mental confusion, or memory problems. The patient may feel tired, not see clearly, have incoherent or incomprehensible speech, ringing in the ears and have amnesia for the events just prior to the blow. The symptoms of a concussion may last several minutes to several hours, with more severe, longer-lasing symptoms indicating a more severe brain injury. "
If you think she has a concussion go see the dr

Well, it sounds as though you are feeling the pain too. Have the daughter stand on her feet and see if she can stay still and keep an attention span. See if she has any obvious head injuries. Maybe the wind just got knocked out of her. Its a miserable experience. Have her walk in a straight line and look for limps and pain. Then you'll know what your dealing with more.

My dad accidentally dropped my brother when he was only a few months old. He never suffered any kind of brain damage and grew to be 6'4". My grandpa used to tell me a story of how his parents went around a corner in the car, he slid out, they picked him up and went on their way. He'll be 92 this summer and you'd never know he took a tumble as an infant. But good for you to taking your little one to be checked out. Try putting pillows around your baby next time so there isn't as much of a risk of falling off of the bed.

Take her to her pediatrician just so you can relax but I am sure she is fine. My youngest son pulled a bureau down on him at 8 mos old. He was walking at 8mos and decided he needed to learn to climb at that same time. You are a mother you are going to be worried about everything especially if this is your first child. I look back and chuckle now to how often I had to call poison control with my first, I brought him to the pediatrician for every sniffle.

when my son was only 2 weeks old, i like a dumb a s s put him in bed with us to nurse, as a result, i fell asleep, rolled over and knocked him to the floor. we were terrified!! toOK him to the E.R, and he had a C.A.T. scan. he was perfectly fine, but i would have went crazy with worry had we not taken him. don't let people on here make you feel bad, it happens to the best of us. if you need to take your daughter to the hospital for your peace of mind, do it. i would do it anyway just to be sure she is ok, better safe than sorry.

If it will make you feel better, take her to the ER. This happened to my daughter a lot at that age, after the first time, I didn't take her to the ER because she was fine. I checked her head for bumps or bruises and I didn't let her fall asleep for about an hour and she was fine.

If that happened and since then she hasn't been crying without stopping, everything is OK and you are too nervous. If she cries a lot and seems to be suffering, take her to the doctor but since she is not crying after all, don't worry. And she is 8 months old,not 3(like my daughters). She is stronger than you think. When I was 8 month old,a swing pushed me but I was OK.

I am in no way qualified to answer this question but I have had two kids and both of them have taken many spills over the years. At 8 months old kids bounce, they don't break. I know it makes you feel bad when that happens but a fall from a bed to a floor isn't so bad. Next time just be more careful, but I think your baby will be fine.
