walking distance to work, as close as possible to someone who can help out from time to time (like your mom or best friend)

Sweetheart, happiness is rarely geographical. I would suggest you see a counselor about what is going on in your life. I have a 6 month old, and I can tell you that the effects of pregnancy (hormones) still have me reeling. Not that meds are the answer, but you may want to speak to your OBGyn.
I would also suggest you get plugged in somwhere and connect to some good people. Being a single mommy can suck the energy right out of you, if you don't have some outide help, and something to look forward to.
One suggestion would be for you to go to the YMCA. You can take a dance class or something, and the baby could enjoy the free nursery!
It would also be helpful to get involved in the community in whatever aspect is of interest to you. You could connect to a church. You'd be suprised how quickly friendships develop and you find yourself surrounded by surrogate family. That would be a real benefit to the baby as well.
Try some of these things before you uproot at such an emotional time. And if nothing lifts your spirits, then you can come to Arkansas. I'm here, and I'll show you around!!! Besides, we have babies the same age.

I suggest a small town instead of the city where everyone knows everyone. It will be easier to make friends and find the best daycares. Also check out the cost of living and the availabiltiy of jobs. Natchitoches, Louisiana is beautiful and small. Check it out online. www.natchitoches.net

I think moving is a good idea and more single mothers should be brave enough to try it! Fla & New Mexico are cheap places to live. If you wanna get a job working w/ the public,Fla is a great place to start.

Move to where you know someone...you don't want to be without family or friends when you move to a new place.
