I am asking this for a friend. Her daughter is sick with an ear infection and she is holding to her ear crying. She gave her tylenol and those numbing ear drops plus put a warm rag on her ear.
She can't take her child to the doctor because she has no way there. What are some tips i can pass along?
(BTW she is in a different state than i)

My 3 1/2 month old son recently broke out in a rash around his mouth and has had some watery stools. I know these are some signs of a allergic reaction but the only thing in his diet is my breast milk.

My son is 11 months old and has been eating solids since he was 5 months. He loved to eat and would eat A LOT, lately tho he just wont take food, he spits it out or just wont open his mouth. My husband doesnt seem to think it is a problem and just gives him more formula, but I think he needs more nutrition than that. Anyone know what I can do I am starting to really freak out

Our 6 week old daughter refuses to sleep on her back, (She did fine at first but then my mother visited us and wouldn't put her in her crib when she was sleeping and screwed everything up).
Now the only time I can actually get her to sleep on her is when she sleeps with us (king size bed, we live in FL so no blankets, she sleeps on her back. I know she shouldn't be sleeping with us but it's either 4 hours of sleep or no sleep).

Now my fiance thinks we should try having her sleep on her stomach but I am scared that something will happen if she does sleep on her stomach. I am asking on his behalf if there is a safe way for our 5 week old to sleep on her stomach, or if anyone has any ideas on getting her to sleep on her back or side.

I've tried holding her and then laying her down on her back but she wakes up inches away from the bassenet like she knows. I try talking to her and rubbing her tummy and her head and I give her a pacifire but as soon as I go to lay in bed (cont.)

what breastfeeding problems have you had and how did you solve it? what help did a Lactation Consultant give you (not just with a problem but in general)

its late (so i might not be making sense) and dh and i are talking about breastfeeding and how to make sure it succeeds. i told him people post their problems and the solution people often offer is to find a LC but i often don't hear if the problem was solved and how

My 14 week old daughter has been teething for about 2 weeks now, but just tonight she has acted like she is really in pain. We bought some Baby Orajel, but haven't used it yet (she fell asleep). What kinds of things can I do to help her when she is in pain?

He wakes up almost as often as he did when he was a newborn. I read all kinds of stuff saying he needs to fall asleep on his own--he does! We've been putting him down awake for a couple months now (we used a very gradual approach) and he rarely fusses at all anymore. So he goes to sleep great! But then he's up 3 or 4 hours later, breastfeeds, then sleeps for another 4-6 hours. Is this normal? It's usually 2 times a night, but sometimes 3. Once in a while he'll wake up 30 minutes after going to sleep.... we let him cry it out for that waking.

Ok here's the situation....due to extenuating circumstances, my husband and are living with his mother right now with our 3 month old son. We are unable to get our own place at the moment, but we are trying. We are incredibly grateful to mom for helping us out as much as she does/has.

The problem is she thinks she is the parent. Beyond that, if she disagrees with how we raise our child (even down to what clothes he should wear, or whether or not we take him to see my family), she treatens to kick us out unless we do things HER way.
I just don't know how to deal with this. Obviously I don't want to end up homeless with my baby, but I want to be able to parent how I see fit. Anybody have any ideas on how I can handle this?

We do pay her the going rate to rent a room in the area, buy our own groceries, and do all the housekeeping (she figures "it's the LEAST we can do since she is doing so much for us"), so we're not really getting THAT good of a deal living here, but most people

my induction is scheduled for march 12th becasue i'm going overdue. i hear that 40% of inductions for first time moms end up in c-section and i DO NOT want to be one of them. i dont' like that c-section recoveries take longer and in my hospital you dont' get to see your baby until at least 3 hours after the surgery and i want to bond and breastfeed right after birth.

The tags are still on them. What should I expect at a consignment shop in terms of payment? How do I know if I'm getting what they are worth? The tags are very inflated prices ($75 for a one pice outfit for a 24 month old!)

Maybe it's better to put them on e-bay? I don't have a lot of time to spare.

if you had pitocin during labor could you tell me if it was your first, second, etc. child and if it ended up in a c-section?

i'm due on monday and i've heard quite a few birth stories where the mom was given pitocin to speed labor up and it seems to always end up with the baby or mom going into distress.

What does it mean to have green poop in a breastfed baby? It just happened and has never been that color before. Usually it's just orangish or yellow? What could cause this? Or can it sometimes be just a normal thing??? Thanks for any help!!!!
