You are fine to take a bath as long as your WATER HASN'T BROKEN. The mucus plug has nothing to do with whether you can have a bath or not. If the bag of waters is intact your uterus and your baby are still sealed off. After the WATER breaks no baths and no sex.

Sex worked for me, but we did it twice a day. Walking I did alot, we used to take trips to the baby store and just walk around for an hour looking at stuff. Other than that I think that most inducers are just hearsay. I am not sure that eating Chinese food would cause you to go into labor, and I am not sure that jumping jacks is a good thing, you could hurt yourself.
The last couple of days are the hardest, you are uncomfortable and irritable and you just want it over with. The day will come soon enough, I promise you, and then you will be in a tizzy caring for your newborn, losing sleep, etc.
My suggestion would be to relax, you can definetly take a bath, make sure that the temp is not too hot, get in relax for awhile. Sleep is your friend now, you wont be getting much for awhile, so rest alot. Walking is fantastic, stretching is good for you too. Sex only if it is comfortable and NO SEX if your waterbreaks (it could cause an infection). Truely nothing really will make the baby come until he/she is ready though. Enjoy your last few days, you will be a mommy soon!
Congradulations!

I am not sure if bathing is a good idea at this point, but to be safe, I would suggest a nice long warm shower just to relax you instead (you can still use the lavender :).
With my boy, I tried pineapple, spicy food, and all sorts of food and exercises, I tell you, all they brought me was disappointment.
If you have tried all of the stuff that you mentioned above then I wouldn't try anything else anymore because ingesting oil or something can be risky and there is no evidence of them ever working. I'd say that if you lasted 9 months, you can manage 2 weeks (that is if your baby even decides to stay in that long). Be patient and good luck, baby will be out sooner than you think.

You're not even 40 weeks yet. It's best if you just chill out and allow the baby to come out at their own pace. Full-term referres to any birth between 38 and 42 weeks. So, it still could be a couple more weeks and everything would be just fine. If you want to take a bath, do it. There's no reason why you can't. As long as your water hasn't broke yet you're fine.
BTW - The amniotic sack around the baby is what helps prevent infection, not the muccus plug. The only reason not to take a bath would be if your water has broke. Once your water has broke you shouldn't have sex or take a bath.

I would take a nice hot shower with a scrubber puff and the lavendar soap. Light some candles and its just as relaxing as a bath.
As to getting that baby out of you, I was three for three with this: Round Table Pepperoni Pizza with EXTRA SAUCE followed by sex. Had a baby within 24 hours every time!
Good luck and I'll be praying for a safe a quick delivery!

No jumping Jacks lol.......don't want to addle his little brains, :) j/k
If the baby has dropped, which I am sure he has, you can try squatting, sometimes gravity does the trick, squat for as long as you can then get up and walk around. This may sound funny but I am sure that you have heard that breast feeding causes the uterus to contract, which is why they say to get back in shape quickly to breast feed, well take advantage of that now get a warm cloth and stimulate your nipples, it can help induce stronger contractions, and thus help move things along. I hope this helps. I wish you the best :)

I would talk to the dr. Im sure you have an appointment soon, Tell him you cant take it any longer and want to be induced NOW. Tell him your full term and the timer is done. Tell him you tired it all and nothing has done it naturally.
Tell him your freaking out because of the infection risk. If you have to LIE........... tell him your husband has to leave for his job in 3 days and you need the baby to come now so that you wont be alone. lol

You will be fine...if the dr didn't want you to bath he would have said so..
you dont' ahve that much longer left anyways...
I tried everything at the end of mine too and all the things people say didn't work for me either...
That is why i was induced

I wouldn't do it if you've already lost your mucous plug. The mucous plug helps protect from infection. If you were in active labour it would be different because the baby would be on it's way out.
I don't want to bum you out, but none of the natural inducers worked... neither did Castor oil, or having my cervix stretched on two different occasions. The only thing that is guaranteed to work is waiting for nature to take it's course.

Clean the house. Take a walk. Don't take a bath, it is probably OK- but why risk it? Don't take any weird supplements or teas- again WHY RISK IT????? Don't jump or eat weird food.
Your baby will come at the right time. Be patient. Read a book.
