I went to one baby shower where they had hung up a long clothesline in the back yard with a whole bunch of white onsies hanging from it. There were workspaces around it that had paint, brushes and stencils, and everyone grabbed a onsie and painted a picture or wrote a phrase or message on it. A lot of them turned out quite cute. It was really a lot of fun, and as a mom of 3, I know how many onsies you can go through in a day, so its not only fun but practical, too. Even the "mess ups" are useful because they go on under the babies clothes, no one sees them anyway.

there is a game where everyone gets a clothes pin put on them and if they say like "baby" anyone that hears them say it takes that persons clothes pin and who ever has the most pins at the end of the shower wins a prize.
there is also where if both parents will be at the shower the change a diaper game. one parent are blind folded and one has to change the diaper by the others directions.
i'd do a theme with what ever the nursery theme will be.

One thing my sister-in-law did for my other sister-in-law's baby shower was get a cute piggy bank (she was having a girl) and set it on the table where the presents went with a sign that said "help start baby Rian's savings". everyone put the extra change they had in it and it ended up being 3/4 of the way full. I thought that was a really good idea.

Try babyshowerstuff.com, they have all kinds of idea for games. You could also do a search on yahoo for baby shower games, there tons of stuff out there. Maybe even play a trivia game to see what people know about your friend and the expectant baby, baby room, etc.

this can be somewhat off-topic, yet in case you want various ideas for a modern-day to furnish your buddy at a toddler bathe, how about clubbing jointly to deliver her to a beauty spa for an afternoon, so as that she will manage to be pampered and deal with herself to each little thing that she wont have a lot time for once the toddler is born, alongside with a rub down, a facial, pedicure etc. this can make her experience truly particular.i imagine some moms develop into quite demanding for the duration of their being pregnant, and customarily experience like they are only a "toddler bag". both way, if she already has each and each of the toddler products she needs, it is a marvelous theory, and could help her to relax.

I loved the idea about the piggy bank! We also make "baby sock" roses as centerpieces or favors. You can find the pattern on-line for those.

Most of all HAVE FUN!

Get tiny plastic babies and freeze them in ice cubes. When each guest arrives, they get a glass of punch with an ice cube. Whoever's baby is born first (ice melts) wins a prize. And they can't suck or chew on the ice!

a spa day would be really cool, everyone gets a facial , pedicure, etc. either at a spa or have someone come to your house, like a cosmetic company , or try the beauty schools. they need the practice and are so much cheaper
