Well, in todays world a god parent is nothing. You have no rights to the child. If the parents decide to shut you out of their child's life, there is nothing you can do about it. A god parent is just something that is needed for a day in a child's life.
Also i am pretty sure that you were left off the list on purpose. People don't get forgotten, either the parents want them there or they don't. Its as simple as that.
I know i sound blunt but thats the way i see your situation.
In no way do i mean to be nasty to you.
In fact i know how it feels to be shut out of the life of a child whom you love.
I raised my friends two children for a whole year when she was running off the rails, I mean literally, they lived with me i toilet trained them took the older one to her first day of school, took them to a doctor, everything a mother does. I loved those two precious girls as if they were my own. And eventually i said something to the mother that she dident like and bye bye girls.
I have not seen them for three years but reports are that they are living a hellish life with a drug addicted mother...But i cant do squat. I feel for you but you just have to put it out of your mind, or you will go round the twist with a broken heart! Love and blessings to you!xx

For the sake of my godson, i would surely buy a nice gift and drop by to wish and cuddle him even if the parents intentionally or unintentionally didn't invite me to the party.

probably just be hurt. if i were still close to the mother and/or father, i might mention the party just to be sure the invite wasn't lost in the mail or if maybe they didn't send you an invite assuming that you knew you were invited. or it's possible they're not having him a birthday party per se and are just having a small get to together or maybe nothing at all. i'm sure they love you and think the world of you or they wouldn't have asked you to be their son's godparent.

Send a gift anyways. So what if you weren't invited to the birthday party? It probably wasn't even meant as an offense to you, my bet. Besides, the kid's what matters, right?

I would be upset, because if that's my godchild I would like to be invited. Did you asks why you was not invited?
