Newborn & Baby - January 2007

She didn't fall off of or down anything; just decided to let go and walk like she's been doing for weeks, and this time gravity got the best of her.

She keeps sucking her lip and breaking it back open so that it bleeds again, then she gets understandably upset and cries inconsolably. I've got her asleep now; any advice on how to prevent her sucking and opening it up again when she wakes?

My baby is 5 days old..we live on upper level of apartment and its usually about 70 inside but at night it sometimes drops to 65. We wrap her in a recieving blanket and then another thicker blanket and then another one on top to kinda keep her from rolling or moving around to much. She doesnt appear to warm or uncomfortable but im worried she may be to warm and something might happen?

My baby sleeps alot...but wakes up to be fed when hungry usually around every 3-5 hours and eats a pretty good amount at that time..my breastmilk almost isnt enough for her sometimes bc she will nurse for about 20 mins and get fussy but still be hungry so we then give her about an oz or 2 of formula then she will fall back asleep. i am afraid she is not getting what she needs! i am so nervous im doing something wrong and harming my baby!

She also poops during or right after almost every feeding and it sounds almost like diarrhea coming out..what is it supposed to look like?!

HELP!!!!!

my baby is just turned two months old and i am going back to work part time. my mother in law is supposed to baby sit while i am there but she is a real estate agent and wants to take her with her to show houses. I am against this and want to ask her to tell me if she has a showing so i can get a different sitter that that day. she just went and got a carseat which is ok but i feel that she shouldnt be driving around with my newborn while she is babysitting and should only use it for emergencies. she has already told me she wants to show her off to the people at her office and out to eat with friends. my husband thinks all this is fine but i want to cry over it because i just want a sitter that can stay at the home at least until she is older. I am only gone 4 hours what should i do

I have just found out I am over 3 months pregnant, (I have irregular periods) and due to the party season have been going out and drinking a lot more than usual. I'm so worried I could have harmed my baby - is there anything I can do now?

Me and my hubby are due our first baby in April and we are both pretty clueless about babies, so I am after a book that gives the basics about looking after a baby.
Thanks

I got my first period after my son was born at about 7 weeks. It has been 2 months since then and have not had my period again. I have read that breastfeeding can affect your period. I am breastfeeding more now than I was at the 7 week mark when I got my period. Is this normal when breastfeeding to not have a period even though I've already had one after the birth.

My son is 7 1/2 months old and he gets up in the morning and eats a bowl of cereal (1/4 cup baby cereal + water), then a hour later a 6-8 oz bottle, then for lunch, he has 1/2 bottle 8 month baby food (the big bottles), a yogurt cup or apple sauce cup, and about 10 Gerber finger food bits, an hour later he'll have a bottle, then as a snack a Farlee cookie, or some fresh fruit, for dinner he has different stuff but for example a bottle of 8 month baby food the meat ones, and some fruit for dessert, plus he has juice and water through out the day, but my doctor told me to feed him when ever he's hungry. But he is more active now, he's crawling adn walking around things....
