I got my first period after my son was born at about 7 weeks. It has been 2 months since then and have not had my period again. I have read that breastfeeding can affect your period. I am breastfeeding more now than I was at the 7 week mark when I got my period. Is this normal when breastfeeding to not have a period even though I've already had one after the birth.

Yes. It is very normal. I breastfed my oldest for two years and never had a period at all. You weren't nursing much and your body decided to have a period then you kicked into to gear with the nursing and your body followed along. So, it is very normal. However, if you are concerned please ask your doc. Even a simple phone call should get you an answer.

Yeah, it's normal. I bled off and on for the first 3 months after my baby was born (I also had an IUD inserted, so that may have contributed). But she's 5 months now and I haven't had a period in 2 months. Some moms don't have a period the entire time they breastfeed - even past a year! Some have them off and on, totally irregularly.

Yes. My friend never had one period when she breast fed her babies. All women are different. When I breast fed my babies, although I only did it for about 8 weeks, I had periods. Take it as your one of the lucky ones ha, who wants periods anyway!!
Congratulations on your baby. I hope all is going well for you x

YES IT IS PERFECTLY NORMAL. THE MORE YOU BREAST FEED THE MORE OF A SPECIAL HORMONE YOUR BODY PRODUCES. IT PREVENTS YOUR EGGS TO DEVELOP IN YOUR OVARIES AND YOU DON'T HAVE YOUR PERIOD. BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SAFE FROM GETTING PREGNANT AGAIN IF YOU ARE HAVING SEX.
