i have not been able to express milk from my breasts for neither my first of second child regardless of the type or brand of pump so pumping to increase supply is not an option.

Herbal remedies during lactation are dangerous and should not be used. Herbs are drugs and are not recommended during lactation. Many of the herbs used have not been approved by the FDA. If you are having trouble producing enough milk, pump in between feedings and make sure you are taking in enough calories from healthy foods. Also make sure you get 5 servings of dairy.

I know of a shop in Glebe called Natures Energy that will make up things for you, I used to get stuff from there for pregnancy including morning sickness. They have Natropaths serving behind the counter so they know their stuff. I think any good Natropath or Herbalist can recommend or make something up for you, just make sure they are properly accredited as the wrong advice could make you & your baby very sick. Natures Energy is on Glebe Point Road (about 4 blocks up from Broadway, Right hand side). Hope that helps you.

LATE ADD ON: Bondi Jnct Massage & Float Centre
02 93877752 Carol can tell you of nearly every Natropath in Sydney & she has a few working at that Centre. I have been going there for 10 years for massage & accupuncture. It would be reputable advice from her.

Drink lots of water! I don't know how close to Sydney you live but have you tried a Chinese herbalist? Go to Chinatown - there's a really famous one in the middle. Personally I reckon that a good naturopath would be more helpful and there's heaps of them in Sydney. But relax, don't worry; a baby's suckle is the key. If your nipples are getting sore try PawPaw ointment - won't hurt the baby - but sure helps the nipples! You and your miracle will do the rest!!!

hey melanie .. congrats on your new baby ...

YOU could try here :
http://www.herbies.com.au/
they are located at ROZELLE

BUT please run anything you decide to take by a GP or a trained herbalist or natropath as some herbs can have decidedly nasty side-effects and especially on a newborn .. PLEASE don't TAKE any advice before you check because your baby's health is the most important thing ...

all the best :)
