My 8 month old baby has a bad cold, i rang nhs direct earlier with her symptoms: Cough, runny nose, moody, hot forehead but i cant take her temp as my thermometer broke and they said make sure i take her doctors in the morning but to ring back if she got any worse and get an emergency doctor. since then she has got diarrhea but has managed to fall asleep, but has woke twice already but got herself back to sleep. anyway my question is should i ring the nhs people back because of the diarrhea or leave it until the morning. this is my first child and the first time she's been ill so i dont know what to do! thankyou.

My son is 5 months old.....at 4 months old the pedatrician told us to start stage 1 baby foods. I am not sure how often to feed these to him, every feeding, once a day, when? I give him 1/2 jar in the morning with his bottle and a whole jar at night with a bottle before bed. throughout the day he is only given formula. He is a big child already, in the 90th percentile in length and weight, I DO NOT want him on Maury Povich when he is 2 for being over weight...LOL! His father and I are both tall and stout people (dad 6'8", mom 5"8").Also, when is it OK to give a baby a cold bottle of formula without warming it up first?

This is baby # 3 and I have never had this problem. She is 7 months old and it is getting very painful to nurse. I have used lanolin but it offers only short term relief and the cracks never get better.

I am a 33 year old single mom. I live with my mom and dad, who are wonderful. Yet I am having a difficult time as my mom will not leave my daughter alone. If it is playtime, mom is on the floor with her, if I get up from feeding her to rinse a dish, mom is entertaining her. I don't want to sound ungrateful cuz I am anything but.......I just find it very difficult when my daughter will only go to my mom and not to me. My mother knows this as we have talked about it and she sees my daughter doing this. What can I do. I have asked mom to just back off a little and that happens for a short period of time. I know it is my job to do bottles and laundry and everything else but I just want to know that my daughter will come to me.....which she never does if my mom is there. I go back to work in 4 weeks and the baby will be with mom full time. I am worried my baby thinks My Mom is her mother and not me. My mom told me that my daughter thinks of me as her "big sister". No, I am MOM!

My baby daughter has never used a pacifier before, but she just started using it all the time (my mother-in-law gave it to her). Is this OK or should I take it away from her? If she can continue using it, when and how do I wean her from it? She's 10.5 months.

After having your baby, how long did it take for the excess fluid to go and how long did the bleeding last? What can I do to get rid of the extra fluid that I have now? For those who had a tubal ligation, what is the recovery time on that? How long did it take for your body to heal from it? Thanks

My 4 month old daughter is a proficient roller and every time I lay her down for a nap or at night she immediately rolls to her tummy to sleep. I go in and roll her back over peroidically but she rolls right back onto her tummy. Is it OK to leave her like that, or is there something else I should be doing? She can roll both ways, but rolls back to tummy the most. What would you do?

Well I am 38 weeks, that what the Dr say and my baby's head is turn up right, so his back is against my back and he hasn't dropped all the way because of this. I am about 4 1/2 almost 5 centimeters and having contractions everyday. Dr already stripped my membranes and now I have another appointment tomorrow to see if I have dilated anymore and that's it, Dr didn't really say he was going to induce but he said we'll say the word induce out loud and see if that scares the baby in to doming out. Does anyone have advice on what I should be doing to get this baby out, because as of the last ultrasound he was almost 7 pounds and that was over a month ago. Thanks for any answers it helps, I am a first time mom and it really helps, thanks!

My 11-month-old has lost interest in the bottle. He takes 8 ounces at breakfast but I'm lucky to get another 10 in him all day long, offering 3 more bottles. I always offer him water or juice at meals but he's not too interested in that either. I'm afraid he may get dehydrated and that he's not getting the right nutrition. Should I go ahead and move him to milk? Any other suggestions?

My 8 week old daughter seems to bring up almost an entire feed, mostly while feeding (bottle feeding breast milk). This doesn't happen at any particular time of the day or after any particular thing but it happens once, almost everyday. What could the reason be ? I can't seem to pinpoint at a single cause !?
