Is there a deadline to name your new baby?

[How many does before you have to give a baby a name, legally and and in the US?}

i believe definatly before starting school. but also many insurance companies and saving accounts and the such all will require a legal name before you can add your child. it is surprisingly difficult to name your child sometimes. but with a new baby you are going to have so much other stuff to worry about don't add this. pick something they will hate it later no matter your choice. good luck to you and "baby"



easy people. not everyone has 9 months notice. our daughter was adopted and we had 2 weeks notice. and no we weren't on a waiting list or the like. if she would not have been our first child and those names were already kinda picked it would have been quite difficult. having a child biologically is not the only way to become a parent. ask questions before you start yelling and using CAPS AND !!!!!!!!!

I think your baby has to be named before leaving the hospital or the birth certificate needs to be in to vital records within 5 days.

i am pretty sure that they have you name your baby before you leave the hospital so the birth certificate can be turned in to vital records....i think it has be turned in within so many days after the babys birth but am not completely sure on time limit on that

i don't know if there's a DEADLINE, but how moral is that? how long do you want to keep your baby unnamed? what will you call him/her for the first 3 months, while you're still deciding on a name? "it"? i think it was your job and responsibility to decide on a name BEFORE your baby was born.
