My son is 7 1/2 months old and he gets up in the morning and eats a bowl of cereal (1/4 cup baby cereal + water), then a hour later a 6-8 oz bottle, then for lunch, he has 1/2 bottle 8 month baby food (the big bottles), a yogurt cup or apple sauce cup, and about 10 Gerber finger food bits, an hour later he'll have a bottle, then as a snack a Farlee cookie, or some fresh fruit, for dinner he has different stuff but for example a bottle of 8 month baby food the meat ones, and some fruit for dessert, plus he has juice and water through out the day, but my doctor told me to feed him when ever he's hungry. But he is more active now, he's crawling adn walking around things....

Just be glad he's eating! So many children that age are picky eaters and parents have trouble getting them to eat! Obviously he is growing fast and his body is telling him he's hungry. If you are seeing that he is beginning to be "obese" for his age, you may then want to get him checked out by a pediatrician. I doubt that there is anything wrong, he is more then likely just going through a major growth spurt and needs that extra nutrition. Good luck!

I am a mother of five children. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what your baby is eating. Babies eat alot and they get what is called baby fat. In my experience with my kids, I fed them whenever they wanted to eat. They out grow the baby fat stage later on. I wouldn't concern yourself too much at this point. The time to be careful is when he is able to open the refrigerator to get out anything he wants. But, that is at a much later year. I hope this helps. My children never had any problems with toning down their eating habbits when they were older.

If he is hungry---let him eat! His body needs more food than you would think because of how quickly his body is growing and developing. And, like you said, he's becoming a little bundle of energy. Be glad you don't have a baby who refuses to eat! I would only be concerned if your doc says he's getting too heavy.Good Luck!

I don't think my little one ate that much when he as at that age. Did you express your concern to your pediatrician?

Some parents actually overfeed their babies and the children end up throwing up. If your child vomits, after the feeding, perhaps you're over feeding him.

Theres nothing wrong with that, if you are hungry you eat right? He likes to eat and there is nothing wrong with that, when he gets older just make sure not to over feed him.

If your doctor says he is fine, then trust your doctor. Next to you he/she should know when to be concerned for your child's health.

Listen to your doctor and don't worry. If he's really fat when he's 2, start worrying.
