My son is 8 months old and used to sleep in his swing, until about a week ago, and we have started trying to let him cry it out. He sleeps great at night, no problems, but his naps are awful. He goes down fine, but wakes up from his second, usually longer nap, within 30 minutes (instead of the usual 2 hours) crying. We have tried shhhhsing, patting, going in periodically, physically laying him back down, but nothing works. Yesterday I let him cry it out after waking, he cried on and off for about 40 minutes, and then went back to sleep for another 1 1/2 hours. Today, my mom, his nana is watching him while I work and she called and said he has been crying for almost an hour. My question is for those of you who used this method..how long did you let your child cry at one time? How many days/weeks did it take for your child to stop waking and crying for so long? Help, please I am very stressed! Please, do not post message discouring CIO because I am already stressed enough.

My daughter sleeps in her pack and play every night. I wanted to keep he in our bedroom the first few months and recently I decided to let her sleep in her own room in her crib, but she will only stay asleep for about 30 mins in it. In her pack and play she will sleep the whole night. Do you have any suggestions on how to make her feel comfortable in her crib?

Okay, so my son is 4 months old, he was born 8 weeks premature and had a rough start in life. My new niece was born 13 weeks premature, she's still in the hospital but doing great. She's off of the ventilator and breathing on her own...anyway...my issue is that, my parents house is flooded with pictures of my new niece, but not one is up of my son. I'm talking they have pictures on the walls, on the fridge, their screensavers on their phones...pictures everywhere. Not one of my son. I've given them many pictures of my son. Some when he was born and hooked up to all the machines and some professional ones now that he's doing better. I've asked about it and they said it's because they don't have any picture frames for his pictures. But they managed to put my niece up. Am I being petty that this really bothers me? They treat him great it's just the pictures (or lack of) that bothers me.

I have been breastfeeding for a little over 3 weeks. My baby was doing great at first. I knew she was getting enough cause of the wet and soiled diapers and she also spit up a bit. For the last 3 days she hasn't had a bowel movement. And she eats non stop for a couple hours before she is satisfied. I actually think she just likes sucking but I'm afraid its not letting my milk to come back in before the next feeding. What is happening and what should I do?

He eats every 4 to 5 hours only 4 to 5 ounces. He doesn't sleep like most babies and I give him cereal with his formula at night. I am scared I have given him to much cereal to soon. He was 9 pounds when he came.

I decided i am taking my daughters in for breast implants, so they will look like me you know, its so important being that i am the most influential person in their lives.
I'm also having part of their genitalia cut off, its much cleaner, fewer creases for bacteria and yeast to grow in. It may save them some discomfort later when they don't take care of it properly.
studies also show it cuts down on STD's.
good reasons? no?
but the same reasons are used to cut off/alter/mutilate a part of a boys body.
if its ok for boys, why not girls?
women have all the same rights as men. except where it comes to genital mutilation. men get all the rights there

i have a three month old who uses the Nuk brand pacifier..he uses stage 1. lately ive noticed that when he sucks on it..sometimes he gets the bottom of the plastic part into his mouth...its almost like the nuk nipple is too small. ive looked at the stage 2 nuks, but they are meant for 7 months and older. any ideas on what i should do.
a friend gave me a generic brand pacifier with a bigger nipple on it, and my baby gags.....

My son is due in March. A friend said that the "baby dry" diapers don't work well because there is no elasticity in the waist. What diapers would be my best choice so that I can start a small stock before my son is born?

Although my son nurses equally from both, my left side recently dried up. I also regained my period at the same time (first period since pre-pregnancy). Is this a signal that my body isn't equipped to nurse much longer?

I have been trying to get my baby to suckle more often from the left, hoping to encourage milk production, but the only result is that my right becomes engorged and my baby pulls off in frustration because there is no milk.

I'd like to continue nursing from BOTH sides. What can I do, and why did this happen?

THANK YOU so much...

My 6 mos old ds started sleeping on his stomach all night. Now, every morning when I get him out of his crib, he is soaked with urine. This never happened when he slept on his back. I use Pampers Cruisers #3 (have also tried Baby Dry #3 with same result). Does anyone with older boy babies/toddlers recommend a size 3 diaper brand that holds more in the front esp overnight? Or have any advice??

I'm going into my 30th week and I'm trying to prepare for our first baby. I've done my homework, but you hear both good and bad things about all breast pumps. Sites like La Leche can't recommend specific pumps...so I don't know which pump to get.

I work & I've estimated that I'll need to pump about 50% of her milk.

Which electric breast pump is the best in your experience? Which is the worst?

Thanks!
