Yes. You can breast feed until your kid is 3 or even 4.
And to "curmudgeo" - what is it that makes these women sickos? I'd love to know. I think it's more of a societal thing than anything. Breast milk is the purest nutrition you can give your child - so why wouldn't you want to provide it - other than other people saying you're a sicko?

If the mother has been nursing the entire time, yes. A mother continues to produce milk as long as her baby needs it. There are ways to reactivate the milk supply, I think, like if you stop nursing and decide to start again. A lactation specialist should be able to give details.

Yes you can still have breast milk for a long time after you wean a baby. Its normal.

You'll have breast milk until you quit nursing. They nurse longer in different cultures. I've heard my in-laws talking about a relative whose kid came home from school and wanted a "snack". This was in Europe.

Yes, my niece was only able to breastfeed for 2 weeks and then stopped. 2 years later, she still had milk in her breasts.

yes. as long as the baby breast feeds you'll have milk. have you ever seen those people on TV who breast feed 5 year olds?

as long as there has been suction in the nipples these past 11 months, it will always come. but I think it took me about 3 weeks when I stopped nursing for the milk to stop.
