Adolescent - October 2007

Im 16 and my 13 year old lil sister be gettin on my nerves. So, today she was buggin me so I hit her in her lip and busted it, cuz she was being annoying. Then she started crying..wah wah wah..like a lil baby. The thing is I ain't felt guilty for it...it actually felt good. Was i supposed to feel dat way?

I find it really hard to be motivated at school at the moment. I've got about 20 days left of classes until I finish for study leave. I live in New Zealand and I've passed this year already and I've got the requirements to get into University.

At the moment I'm thinking 'I really don't need to try anymore/study for my end of year exams because I've already passed the year'. Which is a bad attitude.

Other things seem to be more interesting like my laptop, TV etc etc. I know these exams are good practice and I should try. I also have an English exam on the day after my 18th birthday =[

Any tips to keep me motivated for the last 4 weeks?

They are also identical twins. Anyways, here's the problem, one of the twins is acting very strange lately....For example, Abusive towards my dog (almost as if for attention)and very dis-respectful and hateful towards everyone. I cannot tolerate this especially the abuse towards my dog! I try to discipline her and tell her its not right to treat animals that way, Try grounding her, try taking away privledges, but nothing seems to stop this horrific behavior! Her sister tries stoping her as well. My mother is a push-over and lets us all get away with anything, but this is another reason my neice does not take my reprimanding seriously.
So if someone out there could please give me some hints on what to do to stop her actions, please please share. thanks!

My friends and bf just died in a car crash today. Please help, I dont know what to do with myself. They were going to a party/bbq this afternoon and I was suppose to be in the car with them but I was grounded so my parents wouldnt let me go. I was suppose to be in the car, I wouldve died! I was on the phone with them when they were about to leave and thats the last I will ever talk to them! My friend who was driving lost control when an animal ran across the road and they crashed into a tree. I am freaking out right now, they were all so close to me and now they are gone! Help me please I am hurting so bad right now, I dont know what to do with myself. I loved them.

I'm only in 8th grade and he says that everyone else is doing it. He is a sophomore. I know that some people will say that I'm immature for asking this question but its not like I can talk to my mom about it. I need people's opinions. I know that he had sex before and I'm a virgin. I have a very intelligent son that wont show this side right now. He's decided to care less about his last year of high school, he doesn't seem to have a drive for going to college, he forgets to lock the house up any more. I'm at the end of my rope. He's not on drugs. He doesn't even smoke or drink. He's just so care free any more that it frustrates me. How do you motivate your child to snap to it so that they stand a chance to suceed in life. He can build his own computers and build anything that comes to mind yet he wont take that energy and apply it to school or anything that requires responsibility. Someone please help this frustrated mom.

okay... I have sometime to wait to see if I am pregnant, but if I am pregnant, with a family, that I swore to not to get pregnant, what should I tell me my mom and family if I am? Okay all of my daughters are very well let's just say pretty & into fashion. Well my 12 y/o daughter (her name is Scarlett) is different than the other girls. She is way into more of a runway fashion. All of my other girls like to look cute & be comfortable, but Scarlett wants to wear clothes like the runway models. Sexy & "sophisticated" (aka skanky). I have held her back from wearing these types of clothes at all since she was 9. Since she is still "dedicated" to getting to wear some of it should I just let her? She wants to wear high heels, I bought her 2 very tasteful not high at all heels yesterday. (they are brown & black) Should I just give them to her & let her wear them? They were $50 each but her older sister will probaly end up wearing them (they are the same size). I don't want her in any of those skanky clothes, but I bought her a cute little dress that I thought looked similiar to what the runway models were wearing. It was only like $20. It's very cute! In my science class, my science group consists of me and the two most obnoxious boys you could find. They're smart people, but they won't work! My teacher gives us classtime to work and all they do is talk. I'm getting so fed up with them! We get really behind on our projects and I end up taking them home and doing them alone. These boys are completely capable of helping me do the projects, but they won't. I've tried reasoning with them, yelling at them (not in a mean way), and I don't know what else to do!! Help me!

im now 19 and dont live w/ my parents but when i did they never yelled at me unless i did something serously wrong and when i had a questions like wanting to go on birth control at 16 my mom just asked why and set everything up after having a long long talk w/ me...also my dad was fine w/ bfs as long a he meet them and they did mostly what he said...my parents knew where i was 99.9% of the time and i never lied to them about sex or drugs or drinking even if was under age (still am)
my parents were my best friends and talked to me like a friend and an adult

did i just get lucky or what is wrong w/ these crazy parents who freak out and yell and scarem or just don't care what their teen does?
my parents listened maybe that is whats wrong w/ familys today i talk to my mom and dad everyday and still don't lie to them

hmmmm..... you may laugh at this but here goes
I have 2 freinds and they lost their virgnity at 11 and 12 then on oct 2005 they announced that they are having a kid. The girls parents were very happy to have grandchild(their older son is 17 and a teen dad of 2 yr old boy). the boy's mum didnt find out till jan this year and went nuts(lol!!)(the boi's dad has walked out). When the baby was born the parents were very happy they always wanted a kid and its a boy called joel . One of my freind become a godfather @ 13!!!!lol. The teen parents go to school and the baby's grand-parents look after de kid. Since the baby was born the parents spend more time with each other and the baby and less time with their friends and other people
The boy is 15 and the girl is 14 now The baby is 1 yr 3 mnths born on 16th july 2006.
Lat time i checked they were trying for a second child.....
What do you think of all this?

What type of circumcision does your son have tight, loose or in the middle? I'm looking for my son to have a tight one so he doesn't have to deal with any extra skin. Is there a certain type of circumcision that anyone adovcates from their personal expriences....thanks

Ok so I'm in 9th grade. The top class is honors math, and then curriculum 1, which is still advanced. However once you are on one you can't move up. I'm in curr. 1, and on the brink of honors. My math teacher tried to get me switched but the honors classes are full. My math teacher told my parents that I could either do independent study or 3 weeks of summer school. My dad has decided for me that I'm taking the summer school. I really don't want to do this. How do I convince my dad that I can do independent study. If I talk to my counsler/ math teacher would they probably talk to my dad?

I'm 13, and it's been over a month since I've had my period and I don't know why. I'm not stressed or dieting so i don't know what's wrong. Yesterday, my lower back started to hurt, and I thought I had it, but when I checked, it wasn't there. First off this was not my fault. I was recently raped while coming home from my friends house. If that wasn't bad enough with the cops and not even being able to find him i realized i missed three periods. I am only 17 and i do not believe in abortion. I would like to know someones opinion on whether i should keep my baby or if i should give my baby up for adoption.. I dont want to give my baby up but i cant take care of him. I do work and get good enough money to support myself but i just dont know if i should take on my child or give the baby up to someone who can take better care of the baby than i can.

My daughter thinks I am being unreasonable with her, as she thinks I am refusing to allow her do anything that shows she is growing up. On my side of the coin, I don’t want to give her free reign to do whatever she wants as I don’t want her to become an out of control tearaway.

I accept that at least part of the problem is that I simply have no idea what it is like to be a girl. I am from a family of boys. Girls only became ‘of interest’ when I was about 15. I am now single parent of a 10 year old.

She has given me a list of things she wants to do, and I have told her I’ll get back to her with an age for each request.

She wants:
- to wax/shave her legs
- to pluck/wax her eyebrows
- to perm her hair
- to dye her hair
- to wear high heels
- to pierce her ears
- to wear make-up
- to curl her eyelashes
- to get contact lenses
- to wear ‘belly tops'

What is a reasonable age to permit her do these things?

I am 15 and my stepmom and i are having a huge fault. I know that it is my fault, i just wanna know what to do to make it better with her.
My stepmom has been in my life since i was two. I dont remember life without her, she adopted me when i was four, i even call her Mama. I have a half sister that is hers and my dads, but she treats us no differently. She has always made it clear that she is both of us's mom. Somehow, she found out that my boyfriend and i have been thinking about going all the way. She confronted me about it, and wanted to know why i thought that i had to have sex with him. I asked how she knew, and she said that she knows everything that i do, b/c it is her job to know. About 1 month ago, my parents were away for the weekend and I went to a party at my bffs house. We were all having a good time and when the party was over my boyfriend came back to my house! We were having a really good night and we ended up having sex! I was supossed to get my period about 2 weeks ago so on Wednesday I went out and bought a pregnancy test! I was planning on taking it this morning but my older sister who is 22 came home from college for the weekend last night and I guess it was kind of stupid of me to leave the test sitting on my bed last night! I left to go over to my boyfriends house to tell him that I was planning on taking the test this morning! I forgot that my sister was coming home from college so I figured I could leave it out because my parents were out for the night! When I got home my sister was I guess waiting for me and she was like Hey and I was like Hey! Then she was like so Whats new and I was like not much same old stuff! And then she was like O that’s all! And I was like Yeah why! Then I started to worry! I remembered that I had left it out on my bed and I was like you saw? And she was like yes! I was like O and then basically ran upstairs! I don’t know what to say to her! I have been trying to avoid my sister all day because I really don’t know what to do or say! I still haven’t taken the test yet because I’m scared of what the results could be! What should I do? My sister asked me if I wanted to talk to her about stuff but I said no! The truth is I do want to, but I’m scared and I don’t know what to do! I’m 17 by the way.

my husband thinks she should buy a winter coat with it and I think that is our responsibility as parents. my mom asked me to let her have it and spend it like she wants. She's a great great great kid and loving and respectful and smart. Me and my husband make 6 figures $$$ combined and I think she should just go blow this money however she wants. She mentioned buying a pair of pants at Hot Topic that are $50 and something fun for halloween. I think that's great. My husband thinks I am too easy. What do you think?
