I find it really hard to be motivated at school at the moment. I've got about 20 days left of classes until I finish for study leave. I live in New Zealand and I've passed this year already and I've got the requirements to get into University.

At the moment I'm thinking 'I really don't need to try anymore/study for my end of year exams because I've already passed the year'. Which is a bad attitude.

Other things seem to be more interesting like my laptop, TV etc etc. I know these exams are good practice and I should try. I also have an English exam on the day after my 18th birthday =[

Any tips to keep me motivated for the last 4 weeks?

Thanks

Um Erica, can't you read? I said I HAVE ALREADY PASSED! I've got enough credits to pass the year.

Unless there is something in it for you to continue for the year I think you should concentrate on what your weaker subjects, if there are any LoL

Dear Sarah,

Once you receive your university bachelor's degree, your high school record will become relatively moot. However, until then, it may very well come into play. You may choose to complete your undergraduate education, at a university other than the one you have been accepted to; a lot can happen in four years. If you decide to apply to another university, they will want to see your complete high school record, as well as your current university record. Also, are you sure, the school you are planning to attend, will not want to see final transcripts? There may be a caveat, in you acceptance, that requires you to maintain your current level of excellence.

Regardless, I recommend you determine, what you need to accomplish in your first university semester. Maybe, you can get a syllabus for the courses you are registered for, or plan to register for. There may be some common ground, between what you are doing in high school, and what you will be doing as a university student. Focus on high school assignments, that will prepare you for your university assignments. You may be able to get a head start on your university education, and simultaneously maintain your high school academic record.

I wish you the best, in your academic endeavors,

Larry

Im in the same situation as you. My junior year in highschool I finished all my credits for highschool to graduate. But my school doesnt offer early graduation anymore, so I still have to go to school until the end of the year in june. But luckily for me I got accepted into a college early and are doing classes now. So Im a part time college kid, and a full time highschool kid.

I had the good fortune of having a neighbour who was always a little better than me with marks and whose mother I hated. One day when I was helping HIM with Maths (the one subject he wasn't good at), his mother said "Ray I wish you'd do your own homework - you can't spend your whole life hanging off the coat-tails of (my son)".

I said to myself "Right B*TCH, you ain't seen nothin yet". I didn't help the neighbour any more and locked myself in my room for 20 days to study. I ended up beating him by 150 marks (out of 500). Oh yes and I did make a point of opening my (already peeked) results in front of her!!!

Is that the wrong sort of motivation??? :-)

Tricky with no outside motivating force. Bet yourself a really hideously sweet ice cream sundae if you get say 95%?

Hi!,

Why don’t you try to take up some online mock tests pertaining to your subjects? During online sample mock tests, you will be motivated to refer your text, as and when you will be finding difficulty. If it does not help, I will give you further tips for motivation. You can also mail me, if you feel so.

Regards,

Wabby I think the only thing that would motivate me is that if you got a better result this time, than one of your last efforts, it could help your overall standing.
I can't see the point otherwise.
