She's been grounded until further notice but her birthday is coming up on the 30th (17) so I don't want to "celebrate" and take away light of the punishment.
some may think the punishment is harsh, but if you know me and my background you will know that my husband is in recovery and we run a "clean & sober" household, so drinking (especially under age) is 100% unacceptable in our home.
any suggestions???
or any advice????

A while ago I was told that I have lukimia. I have to start chemo tommorow. I have no idea what to expect. I know I will lose my hair and will be very nausous but what else sickness wise is to come. I'm 13 btw if that helps

So, my mom's birthday and christmas and everything is coming up. I want to get her something nice, but she insists that I get something for myself instead. She loves JCpenney, and I want to get her a $50-$80 gift card to the store. I also want this eskimo-looking hollister or ae jacket, which should i choose? the gift card, or the coat-jacket thing? I dont get an allowance, although my parents will pay me sometimes if I watch my brother. I earned money from a fundraiser we just did, and thats how I have a bit to spend.

I rlly rlly rlly like this guy named billy and well hes like rlly hot and super nice. Anyways what the problem is, is that i get so nervous that i can't even talk to him. For example tonight i was at a basketball game and so was he. I couldn't even attempt to try and talk to him. ( the one time i did try, i tripped like right in front of him ) how can i be less nervous??????

This past friday my parents were gone for the weekend so I decided to have a little party at my house. There were only about 20 people there and its not like every single person there was totally wasted. We didn't break anything and I don't see what the big deal is! Well, I guess my neighbor asked why a lot of cars were parked in front of the house and my mom was like what do u mean we were gone and then i guess she figured it out! She asked me and I was like well I only had a few friends over which is true because 20 isn't a lot of people! then she asked me how many "a few" is and i told her 20. but anyways, my mom flipped out on me and now i'm grounded for 1 month and they took my car away for 2 weeks and my cell phone for 2 weeks also. this is not fair because the party was like really chill and nothing bad happened and i don't see what the big deal is and why i got such a harsh punishment! what do u think?

My Mom is way overprotective. She is a single mother to me and my big sister. I am nearly 15 and my sis is 17. Our dad is not in the picture. My mom asked me the other day if i had anything that I wanted to talk to her about. I told her no, that i didn't. She dropped it then, but my sister pulled me aside later and said that for some reason mom was mad at me, but that she didnt know why, all she heard mom say (on the phone) that i was going to be severely punished. i knew that i was busted.

my mom's best friend saw me and my boyfriend (that i am not supposed to have) at the mall, we were making out. mom came home from work early and started doing laudry(she does this when she is mad) and found a letter my bf had written me about the nite that i lost my virginity.

mom didnt say anything to me about all this until after supper. (she said that she was trying to calm herself down) then she let me have it.(she wasnt calmed down much)

I switched to a new kind of birth control called the Nuva Ring. Ive been on it for almost 2 months now and haven't had any spotting but for some reason every time I have an orgasm, I bleed for heavy for the next 2 days or so. I used to have this with my old birth control as well just not every time so I dont think it had anything to do with the birth control not being regulated. I know for a facts its not the sex part that makes me bleed. Does anyone have any idea what it could be and how to stop it. I dont want to contact my gyno because she was hesitant to put me on it in the 1st place because Ive switched alot of birth controls before. Is there anything I can do to stop it.♥♥♥

What I mean is, I have seen "parents", even on Y!A who can't spell or properly use grammar and who seem uneducated (or at least, undereducated). Do you feel that children learn more from their parents or more from school? If a child goes to a decent school, but comes home to uneducated parents, which has more influence?(Please explain. No "yes" or "no" answers just to get points.)

I'm a desperate mom of a 15 year old girl. She has been skipping school recently, and i actually blame this one on the school. The school she attends is no good at all, and they judge her for everything she does. I know this because i get phone calls constantly from them trying to get me angry with her in some stupid way or another. Today for instance she had got assigned an ISS for having her midrift show as her shirt slid up as she was walking up the stairs. She also hasn't been eating lately, she thinks she's "chubby". She weighs 105 pounds, that's underweight! We can't get her to eat anything except for dinner. She also came to me day before yesterday and opened up to me about how she has been sleeping with her current boyfriend of 3 years. I know they have been together for quite some time, but that's no excuse. She also has recently told me she is a bisexual. I'm just confused as to where i'm going wrong here. im a 17 year old, i'm a sophomore student in a nursing school. and i don't really want to be a nurse, i want to be an architect. but i can't convince my dad and my grandparents. the effect was i'm not really motivated in studying. i always get low grades and i haven't told them yet because i know they'll be dissapointed. i'm guilty for not studying hard. also i want to stop studying and continue next year and take up architecture. how do i tell them that? if you're a parent would you understand and forgive me? please help me :o thank you very much!

I think sex-ed in many schools in America is pathetic. In my health textbook, it says that to prevent getting an STD, don't ever have sex until your married. While I may agree with no pre-marital sex just in case you get knocked up, you shouldn't be teaching kids that marriage magicly prevents you from disease! This all helps kids to WANT to have sex when they are way too young. I mean, seriously, you want what you can't have more than what you can. What do you think?

because we have early release tomorrow, thursday, and off friday but tomorrow and thursday during first and second period we have to go to the gym for something. i can't even imagine what it could be because we have already went over all the stuff about the school, student counsel, and everything else. could this be about halloween? any ideas? thanks!

Okay I want my parents to trust me home alone with my boyfriend [I'm 15]. I'm so tired of having to sneak him in at least 3 times a week when they are at work. We have been dating for one month.

She thinks that by me leaving my hair loose I am obviously 'asking for it'. I dress very modestly, a hoodie, jeans and trainers most of the time. My hair is nice, its down to my waist. But is it not just absoloutely irrational of her to have this fear? What shall I say to her? She wants me to put my hair in a plait!! There's no way I'm doing that. Please help.

My daughter is 13 and she has been acting inappropriately at school. For eg. Recently, my daughter came home and told me that this boy in school was bothering her and saying things like, 'I'd like a piece of that' (referring to my herself). My wife (not my daughters real mom) went up to the school to report what this kid was saying and she finds out that my daughter (in the lunchroom) went down on her knees to only 'mimic' (I hope) a blowj*b. This made us both embarrased - of course. Does anyone have any advice on how I should deal with this? I love her dearly and it sickens me to hear this type of stuff about her.

My 16 year old daughter has recently confided in me that she is pregnant. She told me that she doesn't know what to do, and that she wants ME to make a decision for her as to whether or not she should get an abortion. I honestly don't know. Any ideas, opinions, etc would be helpful. Should I let her get an abortion or not?
