This past friday my parents were gone for the weekend so I decided to have a little party at my house. There were only about 20 people there and its not like every single person there was totally wasted. We didn't break anything and I don't see what the big deal is! Well, I guess my neighbor asked why a lot of cars were parked in front of the house and my mom was like what do u mean we were gone and then i guess she figured it out! She asked me and I was like well I only had a few friends over which is true because 20 isn't a lot of people! then she asked me how many "a few" is and i told her 20. but anyways, my mom flipped out on me and now i'm grounded for 1 month and they took my car away for 2 weeks and my cell phone for 2 weeks also. this is not fair because the party was like really chill and nothing bad happened and i don't see what the big deal is and why i got such a harsh punishment! what do u think?

Yes it is fair, this is not your house and you don;t pay the bills. Next time, just be smart and have nobody over.

I know you don't want to hear it, but your parents are right. The punishment is completely fair, and they're not over-reacting at all. Your parents trusted you to be home, and you threw a party WITH alcohol. Whether or not a lot of people were drinking or drunk, it doesn't matter. If one person was drinking, that's one too many. Though your parents are not there, if ANYTHING happens to anyone, then they'd be responsible - underaged drinking is not taken lightly. And, I know you didn't mean for it to happen, but the fact of the matter is that it did.

It may not be fair to you, but it is to the people who are reading this. I think that you should have asked your parents and not have the party in the first place. Especially with the alcohol and everyone getting drunk, it is fair. Oh well, what's done is done and now you just have to face the consequences. To pass the time away, just go on Yahoo answers and read about people's problems that are worse than yours. Trust me. You'll feel much better. Good Luck.

It is VERY fair. Did you ask your parents for permission to have a party at their house when they were gone? No, right? You also bought 20 friends to your parent's house? That was a very bad act that you have done, disrespecting house rules. What if some of your friends started doing drugs when your parents aren't around? You act like it is no big deal. I would be very upset if I were your parent. If I was your mom, I would ground you even longer.

You are obviously under 21 so anyone who was drinking was breaking the law. And you had people over w/o permission. If anything your punishment was not strong enough. If I was your mom you would be grounded for like 6 months- no phone or car or friends the whole time.

Yes it's fair. First you don't need to bring over friends when your parents told you not to do so.Second you live in their house and have to follow their rules. Third 20 is a lot of people. Next time listen to your mother.

It is VERY fair. If you were my daughter, you would have gotten your car, cell phone, and ALL privileges taken until I felt I could trust you again.

You were left alone in your parents house, the house that THEY pay for and you completely disrespected them and violated their trust. "It's not like every single person was wasted"? That's great that you had even just one person drinking underage in your parents house. Have you lost your mind?

You don't see what the big deal is, and that is understandable. It is obvious that you are not mature enough to be left home alone anymore. Consider yourself lucky. I feel the punishment should have been much, much worse.

I am sorry but it is fair and a few is 3-5 20 people is alot. Plus if there was drinking and friends got in the car and drove your parents would loose everything they ever worked for.

Yes, your punnishment is completely fair. It was innapropriate for you to have a party with 20 some people getting drunk while your parents were gone. You need to face that and take the punnishment you have recieved and learn from your mistakes.

Yeah it is fair, you shouldn't be having partys in your parents house when their not home. If you thought there was nothing wrong with having the party then why didn't you tell your parents you wanted to have a party before you had the party.
