So, my mom's birthday and christmas and everything is coming up. I want to get her something nice, but she insists that I get something for myself instead. She loves JCpenney, and I want to get her a $50-$80 gift card to the store. I also want this eskimo-looking hollister or ae jacket, which should i choose? the gift card, or the coat-jacket thing? I dont get an allowance, although my parents will pay me sometimes if I watch my brother. I earned money from a fundraiser we just did, and thats how I have a bit to spend.

I say get her the gift card. My mom used to say the same thing as your mom did whenever me or any of my sister's suggested getting her something. But we never listen, we go and buy her something. Trust me, it's worth it to see the look on your mom's face when she receives the gift. It always is for me.

Get her the gift card because it shows that you're thinking of her first and that you love her. Get her a nice, sentimental Hallmark type card to put it in too, as that will mean a lot.

As we get later into the season, the jacket you want will probably go on sale, so you may be able to get it a little later for cheaper too if you get more money for watching your brother.

I would get her the gift card. I mean I know she meant it when she said she wants you to get the jacket. but wouldn't it show maturity if you got her something rather than thinking of yourself. I would get her the gift card.

Get the gift card because the jacket that you get her might not be what she really wants. So get her the gift card so she can pick herself.

She'd be forever greatful if you got her the gift card. The whole, "Get something for yourself" is just that she wants it, but puts you before her. You wouldn't know how much it means to her to show that you love and care.
