Pregnancy & Parenting - 29 December 2007

We have been in a relationship for 7 months and are serious. She is separated from her husband, but is legally married still. The child could be his or mine. We decided to wait to find out because of the health reasons. Does she have to name a father on the birth certificate, or can we leave it blank until we have the dna test performed? If it turns out to be mine, if his name is on it, then i forsee all kinds of problems. What should I do?

I'm 21 and not like other typical guys. My girlfriend is 18 and going to college. Her mom let us have our own hotel room and bed in Las Vegas, yet, she isn't allowed to sleep over at my house which is about 3/5's of a mile down the road. I really don't get it?

I lost my plug and 'bloody show' 3 days ago. I'm due today, and thought that after bloody show, you should have gone into labor within 24 hours of seeing it. Is this true? If it is, do you know why my body has waited this long after passing it? Thank you.

My son has mentioned before that he doesn't want to go to his dads for visitation. He has asked me before how old he has to be for him to decide he doesn't want to go. I have never told him that he doesn't have to go and have in fact encouraged him to talk to his dad about why he doesn't want to go for visitations. He tells me that his dad hardly spends any time with him during visitations, and leaves him with other family members to care for him while his dad goes with friends, girlfriends or whatever. I have actually tried to intervene on my childs behalf and speak to his dad about the lack of time he spends with our son, and to encourage him to start at least calling our son more often and I got yelled at and my son was accused of lying to me about his dad. I have a friend who has told me that she dealt with this with her children and was told by multiple lawyers, the attorney generals office and the court, that at 12, a child can decide not to go on a visitation. Is this true?

We have one healthy 16 month old baby and are struggling with the dilema of whether to have another child. I have terrible post partum depression with the first and struggle with being a 'mommy' every day. However, I don't know if we are being cruel by denying our son a sibling. My husband has to move every three or four years for his job, and wrenching an onIy child away from his friends over and over again, could be traumatics. right? I just don't know if we can handle another baby. I know the first year is the worst, but the first year with another toddler pulling at my apron strings may be too much to bear.
Any advice?

After my miscarriage in September it was really hard for me.. boyfriend took it pretty well but I went into a deep depression and have since apologized profusely to him for ways I may have acted. Now I'm pregnant again and he's told me that he dreads spending the rest of his life with me (i was being a little hormone crazy) and after my u/s he said he didnt want to have a baby with me. he has been going out all day and night and not letting me come since we found out (about 3 weeks ago) and last weekend he (for the first time in our 5 years of being together) left me home without the car and didnt call or show up all weekend (we werent fighting or anything.. it was just random). i love my little baby but i feel so crazy and broken and im starting to get really depressed again and i dont know what to do. I don't have anyone to talk to since I decided not to tell anyone about the pregnancy until i hear a heartbeat...

I am 18 and a sophmore @ UNLV, I have great job security and am single. however i really want a child, I was hit by a drunk driver Mar 3rd of 07 and have been getting better since but I am not getting younger and my health can really only go downhill 4rm here. I had knee surgery this month, 3 brain surgeries and have a rod and 3 pins in my L thigh. but I have a great friend who would suppy the sperm. but do i ave to wait until i am married or what?

One of my friend's sisters gave birth to a little girl 7 months ago. I think she is a beautiful baby, but the medical problems that she has are unbelievable.
She is deaf and blind, her brain is malformed so it is essentially only a shell surrounding fluid. She must go to the doctor for weekly injections of a growth hormone, because her body is not producing it, and she is expected to need a liver transplant within the next year.
Her mother had 7 miscarriages before having her, and was told by the doctors that the likelihood of her having a healthy child were slim to none. She herself had to recieve hormone injections during pregnancy because her body was rejecting the baby.
She is now planning to place her child for adoption, but she plans to try having another baby. Does anyone else see this as completely wrong?
This whole situation has me really upset right now. I would honestly tie her tubes myself if she were here...

well, I am a 14 year old boy, and I am very scared of the dark.......I have I night light, in fact I have had it since I was 8.....I have alwys been scared of the dark and I don't know why. Sometimes, I even have to get my teddy bear. And that is just really weird. Lately the fear has gone up a lot. But nothing bad has happened to me either. BTW I am not a small person, I am 5'11 and weigh 160 I am not fat but you know, I am a big guy.

I was just wondering if anyone had advice......any noise at night will scare the crap out of me (just an expression)

im currently using the phototherapy and i just read this article online that symptoms for jaundice getting worse is (execessive sleepiness..wont wake up to eat, less bm and wet diapers per day..etc) my baby is currently sleeping under the phototherapy light and has been for the past hour and before that i breastfed him but for only a couple of minutes before he slept and i put him in...should i wake him up and feed him..im getting worried he isnt eating enough and isnt having enough bm and wet diapers..he sleeps all day..wat should i do? im going in to see him doc on monday..but i wanna do something about it now..thanks in advance

If I ask my momma can I use her car to go to the movie theatre or corner store she says "NO!!! YOU DON'T HAVE A LICENSE!!!"

O.K. but she'll ask me to go to the grocery store (usually Wal-Mart) and gives me a list. I tell her sarcastically "I don't have a license" and she tells me I better do as she says.

Wal-Mart is 4 miles while the movie theatre is only 2 miles.

I have an 12 year old daughter who has always been a pretty good child but lately she has been lying about and stealing food. A month ago she stole money off my dresser to buy food and recently she snuck into the refridge to get pop why? I do not know. She knows that she is welcome to any thing in the fridge but she choose to sneak and steal. I was upset with her and told her that her Christmas was going to be cut short if she didn't get her act together. She went back and told my sister that Shes not worried about her Christmas because she knows I want her happy. On Christmas day she was able to see her presents but I did not allow her to use or wear anything. I also made her stay in the house on Christmas day alone while the rest of the family went to visit other relatives. My mom was pissed and said she want nothing else to do with me because of the way I punished my daughter. Am I wrong? and whats up with the stealing food when its available for her?
