We have been in a relationship for 7 months and are serious. She is separated from her husband, but is legally married still. The child could be his or mine. We decided to wait to find out because of the health reasons. Does she have to name a father on the birth certificate, or can we leave it blank until we have the dna test performed? If it turns out to be mine, if his name is on it, then i forsee all kinds of problems. What should I do?

wait until after the baby is born. You usually have a period of time in which to submit the paper work. However if you need to submit it before the test results are back, leave the fathers details blank/unknown and then you can adjust the birth certificate with the correct details after getting the paternity results.
However I would ring the birth (deaths and marriages) office in your state to double check if that is possible to do. Check also how long you have to submit the paperwork too.

best of luck

Leave it blank.
If you are in the U.S. legally it is assumed the husband is the father of the child until a test proves otherwise.
If you sign the birth certificate under normal circumstances, you are legally obligated to support the child. But, I'm not sure that it would make a difference since she's married.
Leave it blank.
Neither man should sign it.

You can have a test done as soon as the baby is born. You have a few weeks to fill and send off the birth certificate. Just wait until then.

you can get a Prenatal Paternity test, this test shows if you are or arent the father before the baby is even born, but she has to be between 13 and 24weeks along 24 is the max. but if you dont find out before, you dont have to sign the birth certificate. try this http://www.dnatesting.com/

I highly doubt she would tell her husband about you ? she would want his name on there . It couldnt be that serious if she doesnt know which one the father is .
