I could really use your help. There is just soo much information, I can't think straight.. I'm due in 7 weeks w/ my first baby. I'm getting hit from both sides on what to do.
If I decide to opt out of immunizing my baby, how do i do that in Illinois.. This is NOT for religious reasonings....but If I have to say it is I will. Also, where do I find forms, and why when I call a doc office to ask some questions i cannot get anywhere with them? how will I find one? ugh. please help lessen my confusion.

How many children do you allow? Do you do this just 2-3 days a week or full time? What kind of activities would you recommend for this age. I am a sahm with a 1 year old and meeting with the mom of a 2 1/2 year old for care 2 days a week. I want to be fair in the pricing but also it has to be worth it especially since i only want to care for one family so that i do not have to deal with liscencing. If you are a mom who takes your child to a home daycare you are happy, with please let me know what you pay and if it's part or full time. Thanx for your input.

i'm 16 years old and my boyfriend and i've been...active... We both feel that its a good idea for me to go on birth control just to be more safe. However my parents have no idea that this goes on and I have a feeling they would probably die if they found out we've been intimate. How on earth am I supposed to ask my mom if she would consider putting me on the pill?????

What do you think of the Name Atlantis for a girl??

Okay, I am not asking if you HAVE done this, or if you WOULD. I'm just asking if anyone has ever THOUGHT about it. When you know that your baby is asleep, and going to stay asleep for the next hour or so, have you ever thought of taking 20-30 minutes and running to the store or some other errand with out your baby? Including leaving the baby at home alone? Again, I'm not asking if you ever would, but just if you have ever thought about it. I think it would be interesting to hear everyone's experiences. Thanks.

Is it ok to give an 5 mo old infant unpeeled tangerines, tomatoes, and steamed mustard cabbage to suck on, as if it's a toy? I think it's dangerous because they can accidentally suck out a small piece and choke, but my mother in law insists and keeps giving it to my son.

Only with chocolate milk will my son throw up all over the place about an hour after having it. He can drink regular & strawberry milk fine and it's the same thing with chocolate ice cream and chocolate (candy). I asked my doctor, they couldn't think of anything so I just stopped giving it to him altogether, anybody know why?

The plane trip went SO well... she slept, ate, didn't cry, only fussed when she was hungry or tired and stopped quickly when I comforted her. Now that we have arrived at the "in-laws" (last night) she wouldn't fall asleep, when she did it was for only 15-20min no matter where she was sleeping at. Carseat, on my chest, nursing, next to me, with water on (white noise effect)... she finally did sleep around 2am but woke up frequently to nurse. We slept together. I'm trying to keep her comforted. What can I do? Why is his happening? I know it's a new place but I'm using all of her clothes, blankets, going to use same laundry detergent (even though my MIL didnt wash the bedding w/ it like I asked her to)... I feel so bad for her, my poor baby :-( Expierence??? BTW we're here for 3 WEEKS!!! And my husband isn't going to arrive for another 11 days.

They handed me a photocopied flyer from a religious group urging me to protest a new state bill (SB777 in California) that would require homosexuals and trans-gendered individuals to be included on the list of people who are protected from discrimination. This flyer was generated by a church group called "saveourkids.net" and it extrapolates a future, if this bill is enforced, that will eliminate prom kings and queens, gender-specific bathrooms, and will prohibit teachers from referring to parents as "mom and dad". The bill does nothing of the sort.
This preschool is a private school but they receive state money for meals and transportation. I specifically asked when I was investigating the school if they were church-affiliated or did they give any religious instruction, and they assured me they did not.
I feel this flyer is inappropriate, but I don't want to over react.
I am a non-believer and do not agree with the contents, but that is beside the point, I think.

Thanks

throughout my whole pregnancy i've been looking foward to breastfeeding. i love watching my baby nurse she looks so happy and content. i cried like a baby the first time i fed her but im starting to go crazy. i've been having a lot of problems. im tired and just want to be left alone for a while and she wants to eat every 30 minutes. my nipples hurt and i cant figure out whats wrong with her latch. i dont want to quit all together i just need a break every once in a while. i know they say its too early to introduce a bottle because of nipple confusion but i have to do something because she's starting to get hungry and i feel like i just cant do it right now.

what would be the best thing for me to do. should i go out and buy a breast pump and pump for while or should i buy some formula and just use that once or twice so i can get a break. eithre way i still really want to breast feed. i just need a break every once in a while and she has been eating non stop since she was born.

deleted in a steady stream? Some people ask unimportant questions and never get deleted, and brag about that. Meanwhile, children are treated like second-class citizens and denied the opportunity to seek the truth when information is deleted. An idea starts with one person and becomes a majority popular idea only when others are allowed to consider it. Children are not senseless idiots though many treat them that way.

Well we have been told by two doctors that yes completely quit where as 2 others have said no just cut way way back because now that she is 20 weeks along the effects of quitting could be even more damaging to the baby. I just need to get more of a majority opinion. Most of all though i want to find out which really is worse!

My friend and his wife are newly pregnant. It's their first child. And he is actually more anxious than she is. He is terrified of everything that could go wrong.

He is worried to death about birth defects. There are alot of them out there.

He is also worried that he could hurt the baby. Either by accident or on purpose. He points out how clumsy he is, and how most people who molest or abuse young kids are related to them.

This is really scaring him. He says he keeps getting these unwanted images in his head of things that could go wrong.

I think he is being awfully hard on himself. He has absolutely NO criminal record to speak of besides shoplifting once when he was a kid, and a traffic ticket. And he's never been violent or abusive to Suzy or anyone else. And he is very caring and good natured.

He's always been a bit of a worrier. So is this natural for a new father to be? Should he seek professional help if it doesn't go away?

Why, when your in the store and.....your child throws a tantrum, and you are ignoring your child, cause if you baby the kid, they think it's ok, to do it all the time) why do people point and look at you like you are the evil mom?

I had this grumpy lady tell me (in front of my kid) to give her what she wants. I wanted to slug her, lucky for her, I was grown up with better morals then that.

I'm a 27 year old breastfeeding mom and for the past few months I have noticed several tiny fissures on my labia minora and around my clitoral hood. They burn when they appear and itch when they heal. I had a doc examine me and was tested for any and all possible infections/STDs and I was given the all-clear. She said that what I'm experiencing is most likely a mild form of atrophic vulvitis since I'm breastfeeding. She prescribed estrogen creams, but I was hoping there was more I could do because it's really interfering with my day to day routines and I don't even want to think about what it's doing to my sex life.

I'm not going to force my baby to wean yet. What else can I do to help with this problem? What foods contain natural estrogen?

As a side note, I'm also using Mirena (IUD) for birth control. Could this have anything to with the problem? I'm guessing not, but throwing it out there anyway.

Thanks in advance for any helpful answers.
