Last year he was in a special needs class as he has a speech delay. However, by October he was showing severe stress signs that he was unable to handle the environment and I took him out. This was a voluntary program and he received speech at a private office after. This year he is in a regular prek class in the school and receives speech at school but he is now crying at night and in the morning saying he does not want to go to school. He is super smart (he can already do simple addition and spelling) and behaves very well at school even receiving a school award for being super in class. He has a sibling in a close room and sees neighbor kids during the day. He tells me the teachers yell but in my experience all teachers probably do at some point especially in the younger ages. My idea is that he is probably not comfortable here as he follows the rules and would rather just learn and play then cause problems and get in trouble which is what I see the other kids doing. takeout??

I have 2 sons aged 11 and 5, and a 3 year old daughter.
My eldest loves skateboarding and outdoor kinda stuff, 5 year old loves the superheroes, and my daughter likes dolls.

I have only $50 to spend between them, what can I get them based on their interests? Any suggestions please help!

I'm moving away from home in February for university. I'm staying in a hall of residence, which is sort of like a dorm.

I'll be flying up there on my own and then meeting my Mum's friend and she'll be taking me my hall.

The afternoon we arrive there is an afternoon tea for parents and family members.

My Mum can't fly up with me because she's made it very clear she has other things she'd rather be doing.

I'm really scared and I'm sure all the other people will have their parents with them.

My best friend lives up there and I was wondering if it would be appropriate if I took him along as my 'parents and family'?

He already attends the University.

What do you think?

Me and my fiance were trying for a baby, and thankfully we have got pregnant. I was so happy :)

He has now changed his mind however and wants me to abort. We are both on jobs which don't pay great... and I only started my job 2 &1/2 months ago (and I have 3 months probation and have already taken loads of time off for scans etc)....

My parents aren't happy about us keeping it either as my finace is black and I am white. They think it is unfair and selfish of us to have a mixed race baby...

My finace really doesn't want the baby now, but I just can't imagine murdering our child which we had wanted so much!

My 6 yr-old niece had an 8 yr-old friend over yesterday with a number of adult family members. The 8 yr-old was telling us about someone telling her scary things about ghosts and that she was scared and woke up at night afraid of them.
In order to soothe the 8 yr-old and not freak out the 6 yr-old, every adult at the table said "I've never seen a ghost. I don't believe they are real. I think that other person was trying to scare you".
To be honest, I have seen and believe in ghosts.
Do you think it was wrong to lie to these kids? Or is it best to lie, not let them be freaked out right now, and possibly deal with this when they are older and more able to handle things?

I'm not the parent so I would go along with the parents decision (which i did). I just don't know if maybe we should have told the truth, let the kids be freaked but also tell them ghosts are nothing to be afraid of. Although they wouldn't be waking *me* up in the middle of the night - LOL.

I mean teens sometimes tend to learn faster than adults, but some parents keep on insisting that its not yet the right time. So when do you think is it best to earn to drive?

Hi, my partner claims obseekers allowence for us both, and we get tax credits for our 3 very young children. My partner has just started a course which is part of the benefits scheme. My oldest goes to nursery on the afternoon and im having trouble taking and picking her up as my partner usually does it. Im having trouble because my 1 1/2 year old wont walk outside and my youngest is 3 months, i cant push 2 pushchairs at once. Im just wondering if i can get free childcare or so much free for her if im on benefits? just a couple of hours a day, then it will give me time to pick my other child up from nursery. To be honest she would benefit from nursery as she is very shy and would open her up a bit especially as she starts big school nursery in march next year too.
All advice very apprichiated. thanks.

The money i spend on toys for my kids is unbeliveable, yet they have happily sat there for 25 minutes so far playing with the empty plastic bottles in the recycling bag!!!

Anyone else's Kids find things other than their toys more amusing???
